Summer Virus!
DS has been sick since Monday night! He's 7 years old. We were at Rocking Horse Ranch over the weekend so I am sure he picked up something there. Especially bc he still sucks his thumb sometimes and doesn't even know he's doing it something. Ugh!!
Monday night started witha scratchy throat and was a little warm. Only 99 so figured it may be nothing. Tuesday he had a fever of 100.5 and was tired and still can't talk. Not complaining of a soar throat or anything. Just tired and hardly can talk. Wednesday fever went up to 102 so took him to the Ped. Not strep but the Ped said viruses are going around. Fever went down and went to bed with no fever then woke up at 1AM with 103 fever. Gave him Advil and woke with no fever. He's been fine all day. Still a little tired, but had no fever till just now (it's 1:20PM) and he has 100.5 fever.
He still can hardly talk. Just clearing his throat and scratchy. Just tired, but watching TV and resting.
Anyone know what this is? Maybe the fever virus, which is what it seems and he's had it before and sucks! Sucks he's been sick since Monday night and it's Thursday!

Probably just a random virus.
One summer I swore I had strep. It was so bad, I couldn't swallow. Felt just like strep when I had it in the past.
Went to Stat Health and was shocked when strep test was negative.
He gave me some liquid steroids right there in the office and I finally got some relief from feeling like crap once that kicked in, but this thing lingered for like a week.

Thanks! Ugh! His Ped didn't give me anything since it's a virus and said come back Friday if he still has a fever. Hoping it would be over now and he'd be on the mend

Yeah they wont' give the steroids like that to kids unless it's really bad.
I actually had never had them before either but this was going on week 2 of feeling like utter shit. Right before this I had had a viral pink eye that was so bad my lymph nodes were swollen and I felt achy and flu like from it and nothing was helping it go away since it was viral.
So I think the Dr took pity on me.

Summer Virus!
My DS had a low grade fever that lasted a few days. Chest, ears, everything was clear. Just had a clear runny noise.

Yes!! Both of my kids have had it for almost 2 weeks, started with scratchy sore throat, one had fever for a few days other did not, now it’s congestion and cough! I have a few friends who’s kids have the same thing. It’s frustrating because my kids rarely get sick even during the winter!
