Flu and 7 month old

Of course!

ETA: even without having a baby, I would not want to be anywhere near confirmed case of the flu unless it was absolutely unavoidable.

Yes!!
God knows how long it will be festering in that house.
No way with a baby that young would i risk it.

No chance I would go. The flu can last a week or more easily. My ped was saying even the 24 hour fever free rule is kind of bs and people can still be contagious.

Re: Flu and 7 month old

I would not go. 7 months or 7 years old. I just would not risk it. I would not go even as a single person let alone with my husband and kids.

And this situation happened in reverse for us. At mothers day we stayed home to not make my then 7 month old nephew I'll when my son had come down with a bad cold.

I'd actually be glad for a perfect excuse to not have to sit at a Superbowl party.
I'd stay home and watch movies!

That's crazy. Why in the world wouldn't you stay home with your child if they had the flu?!

Wait...her parents plan on taking her to a Superbowl party while she has the flu?

That's pretty messed up. She shouldn't be around other people, the flu is no joke. Her parents really plan on still going?

Not a chance I'd bring an infant around someone diagnosed with the flu, and I'm super laid back about germs.

She also should be home resting so she doesn't relapse. Your body needs rest!

Yes, this is a really bad decision. This poor girl should be resting as much as humanly possible. And for the Super Bowl?!?!?

Well the way this country looks at the Super Bowl you would think it was a national freaking holiday so this does not surprise me even a little.
Like you can't watch the game at home on your own TV?

I'm in no way a germ freak. If someone says their kid is sick and they already planned on me for babysitting or whatever I still let them come. BUT the flu! No way! Especially with how bad they are saying this year. Someone needs to tell the parents that she shouldn't come to the party. And I wouldn't go if they were.

The parents can be infected by Sunday and not know it yet. They say you can spread it 2-3 days before.

Yes, definitely keep your son away from her. Why take a chance? This flu is no joke. There is a school in Chicago that closed until Friday because of a flu outbreak. Anybody with the flu needs to be considerate and stay away from others especially from kids.

I would keep my distance. There is NO way I would spend time with someone with the flu unless I was their caregiver. Are your in laws OK with your niece coming over with the flu?

its safe to be around someone who is sick as long as they have been fever free for 24 hrs. No kissing, wash hands etc.

I'm sure they will clean the house prior to people coming over

But the child was just diagnosed so I highly doubt they'll be fever free by Saturday. If the parents are so laid back and still even leaning toward going I would probably not go unless they didn't. Who knows if they'll give the kid Motrin and call her fever free. Not to mention the baby is 7 months so is he vaccinated, have they had the second dose at least two weeks ago to give it time to work? Just not worth the risk for a football game.
