Quick breakfast ideas for school kids?

My kids were never into breakfast. They would wake up and have a glass of milk. An hour later they would have a banana and then 1 hour later they would have a yogurt.

Now they are in nursery and pre-k and can't do their normal morning routine. Any suggestions on what I can give them with their milk that is small but filling?

What are you giving your school kids for breakfast?

my kids love all eggo products...waffles and pancakes
It's is easy for me and filling for them

ETA - we get the flavored ones (cinnamon waffles, blueberry or strawberry waffles, blueberry pancakes) so that they dont use syrup

Re: Quick breakfast ideas for school kids?

Breakfast in my house is either cereal, honey nut cheerios (my 3 year old basically wants this every day) or special K (my 6 year old likes this) waffles, pancakes, or french toast

IMO I wouldn't be giving them a glass of milk they are probably filling up on that rather than eating food. I would start by giving them some cereal, banana and a yogurt maybe then give them milk.

Even if you don't you can just give them dry cereal for them to munch on .

My 5yo likes oatmeal which is good with me bc it's quick. My 2yo prefers cereal with milk. They do both like the eggo stuff like the pp (mostly the waffles and French toast) but they will go through a box of French toast sticks in a day so I have to limit that! I mostly give it to them dry bc I don't want them getting covered in syrup before school.

Re: Quick breakfast ideas for school kids?

My DD loves frozen waffles

She used to love the little silver dollar aunt jemima pancakes (it HAD to be that brand or she would refuse it) but since they had a recall a while back we have not found them in the stores in months.

French toast sticks

Bowl of cereal

A yogurt

We love Trader Joe's frozen waffles, pancakes and French toast. We also do quick cheese omelettes with frozen hash browns or mini bagels with cream cheese.

my younger one always wants a cup of milk in the morning (actually she recently just stiopped this at 3.5) so i would give her milk and then some dry cereal. Also,,, mini bagels with cream cheese.. Yogurt honey and granola, or if in a rush, just pre packaged yogurt and/or maybe a banana. Sometimes I batch make muffins (banana or zuhinni and raisen) and they will have the with fruit. If were really late and need to be on the go--- I will give them a yogurt smoothie or granola bar for the car ride to school =)

my sons also like the Eggo stuff- waffles, etc. My older son has also been liking the Belvita Breakfast Biscuit things- the ones with chocolate icing in the middle. and those have some protein in them to keep him full. I also got them some kid's Zone Bars from Target- chocolate or vanilla cupcake flavors- same thing, easy and have some vitamins/protein for them. they also like cereal or occasionally a scrambled egg if i have a few extra minutes. also yogurt or a cheese stick, too

We rotate:

Chocolate chip waffles
Cheerios
Yogurt
Toast with butter

We always have milk. With cheerios and toast, we add a fruit (blueberries, strawberries or banana)

Re: Quick breakfast ideas for school kids?

Cereal, chocolate croissant with milk, toast, wafles or pancakes. But one of his favorites that is a smoothie (bananas, strawberries, yogurt and OJ) that I always pre made the night before.

On school mornings we do cereal, oatmeal, waffles, toast with butter or jelly, yogurt, scrambled eggs. Sometimes a side of turkey sausage, always a side of fresh fruit.

My kids are the same! They each want a cup of milk first thing, and then they won't eat until 10am. They love smoothies. I add oatmeal to thicken it up a bit and they will drink those instead of milk, so it helps keep them full longer. Sometimes I give them a piece of toast, dry cereal, or scrambled eggs with it.

Re: Quick breakfast ideas for school kids?

My kids like protein bars...sometimes i buy the ones for kids, but often I just buy adult ones and cut them in half if they are too big. They also like the oatmeal squares that are almost like a cookie. I have made breakfast cookies for them before too.
