Anyone's sinuses acting up?

I have never had allergies but think I might be starting to get themChat Icon The last 2 days I feel so stuffed up and blowing my nose. DH I'm pretty sure has a sinus infection and all 3 of my kids noses are running like crazy. What is good to take? Claritin? Zyrtec? Allegra? My head feels awful.

Re: Anyone's sinuses acting up?

I've started getting mild headaches, a dry cough and an occasional runny nose.

Tis the season for allergies!

I take Singulair for them (prescription) but I like Alavert over the counter. I only do Singulair because it's a much cheaper copay ($15 for three months) than Alavert cost OOP. Neither cause drowsiness which is a huge issue for me with allergy drugs.

Re: Anyone's sinuses acting up?

I take Zyrtec at night and Flonase nasal spray every morning during allergy season . I just got over a cold and possible sinus infection. Was on antibiotics for something else, so I think it cleared it up. But my sinuses are still pretty full 10 days later. So I started the Flonase today if it's allergies, that'll take care of it.

Ps
If your head feels full, try some sudafed

Probably not really sinus related, but I have literally had a series of colds recently. I was finally better (although I still had the annoying cough with the throat tickle...) now today, a new sore throat and I feel a cold coming on again. Everyone at work is sick - its like a chorus of people coughing and sneezing. Yuck.

Re: Anyone's sinuses acting up?

I suffer from allergies, as same as DS. He has been with runny nose and sneezing, I have had itchy eyes. Last year allergies weren't that bad and I think it was because I used Flonase every day. This year I'm doing the same, and so far it has been only my eyes bugging me in the morning.

It's really starting to ramp up for me... unfortunately I get terrible migraines this time of year and itchy eyes have begun... I've been taking cvs brand of Zyrtec and it's been helping for the most part. My daughter is almost 5 and she's been get them for the past couple of years... she takes Claritin and that seems to be helping her. Poor thing, her nose constantly runs. I always have to be armed with tissues!

YESSSS

I am NOT a seller of essential oils, so don't get the wrong idea Chat Icon

However, I put RC from the Young Living line on my sinuses, temples, and under my nose and I was back to normal in like 2-3 days.

Sounds like the cold that is going around. Unless you have a fever, or it's green, I doubt it's a sinus infection. It's cleared for me quickly by taking Zicam rapid melts, and drinking tea with Manuka Honey in it.

April is a hot month for colds and strep! Seems more so than the other months!

Very good possibility it allergies. You can suddenly develop them at anytime. I have them all year round , but this week has been an absolute horror show for me! Lots of people mistake allergies for colds.
