Do I invite these kids?

DD's 2nd birthday party is in April and I put the daycare invites in the cubbies of all the students in her class last week. Next week, 2 new students are moving into her class (and 2 of the oldest are moving up) -- most of them have been together in the room for the past 5 months -- she's super friendly with the 2 oldest leaving and since they were in the class when invites went out, they got one. The party package includes 15 kids and between her daycare class, cousins, and our friend's children, we're already inviting 20 and will pay additional per child for anyone over the 15.

Do I automatically invite the 2 new kids entering the class and just put invites in their cubbies? Or wait until some of the RSVP's come in and then invite them? Thanks everyone!

Personally I wouldn't. Classes change and you can not always be expected to change things like that. The invites went out and that is why they are not included. It's not personal.

That happened to me. We had three children move up into my son's class a week after I distributed the invitations. I invited them as well since I would have felt bad leaving anyone out. But, it was my son's 5th birthday, and the kids are old enough that they talk about their upcoming birthday parties etc. during the day, so the kids would have probably known they weren't invited, if I hadn't invited them. 2 year olds might have no idea, so less likely the new kids would feel left out. There might just be awkwardness with the parents, depending on how chatty the parents at your daycare are at drop off and pick up. Which is all to say, I would invite the new children as long as there wasn't a big budget constraint.

Re: Do I invite these kids?

Since the invites already went out and they are so young, I'd say you don't have to but it might be nice.

I have to say though that my DS is in a mixed 3/4 year old class. I found out from another parent that my son wasn't invited to a bday party for one of the 4 year olds. I assumed it was because the mom only invited the older kids, but I still wonder if just my kid wasn't included for some reason...

I would invite them because you will probably run into this ever year and starting when they are 3 they talk about it so I feel bad for the noninvited kids.
