In home pet euthanasia
I hate to even write this... my 13 year old pittie mix is not doing well. I know I have to make a decision soon.
Does anyone have any experience with in home euthanasia? I just feel that I would rather do it here than take her to the vet.

I friend did it. I wanted to but things went to fast for me to call the vet.
If you know when in advance you can plan. My vet refused to do this at home so I would have had to call a vet that my dog did not know or knew her.
My thoughts are with you, its a hard choice to make

I don't have experience at home, only at the Vet's office.

So sorry to hear.
Can you ask your vet if they know of anyone?
Or maybe they would make a housecall in this case?

I'm sorry. I know it's not easy. I just went through this. My dog wasn't doing well and I knew it was almost time. I was hoping she would pass peacefully in her sleep but that didn't happen 
I finally made an appointment to bring her (which was so upsetting) but then she seemed to be doing so much better, so I canceled. A week later, all of the sudden she was barely able to walk. I called the vet and asked if they could come to me. I was so relieved when they said yes. To me, it was so much easier than bringing her in. If I had to bring her in, she would have been anxious and stressed out. Instead, she was able to pass peacefully in her own home.
I've had quite a few rescue dogs so I've done it both ways (bringing the dog to the vet & having the vet come to us) and doing it at home was by far the easier option. If you have specific questions, feel free to FM.

My husband and I had to say good bye to our beloved Boxer Bruno last August. As hard as a decision it was to make we felt that saying good bye to him in his home was in his best interest. Our vet who we have loved for the last 8 years came to our home where he was surrounded by all of our family and friends who loved him. My husband and I just couldn't let Bruno's last moments be in the office.
I am so sorry for what you and your family are going through. I hope this gives you some comfort and just know you are doing the best thing for your fur baby.
