Have you dyed your hair during pregnancy?

Other than highlighting my hair for about a year in college, I've never dyed my hair. I was going to hold off until after pregnancy to cover up the grays, but they're really getting out of control. I'm getting a haircut this weekend and was thinking of making another appointment within the next few weeks to dye my hair. I'll be 15 weeks this weekend.

How often did you dye your hair during pregnancy? Did you use any special dye? Is there any difference in the chemicals between permanent and semi-permanent dye?

I highlighted and lowlighted from 6 weeks all through pregnancy- probably every 8-10 weeks or so.
They didn't use anything different on me
All was fine.
You have to think about the tiny amount that would actually get through your skin and into your blood stream. It is soooo minuscule.
You'd have to drink the dye to have it to any harm IMO

This. I do it every 8-10 weeks. I'm currently 21 weeks.

I am going to make an appointment to highlight my hair as soon as I hit the 12 trimester. I don't know if it's the pregnancy or what but my grays are CRAZY.

I dyed my hair- full color. I did wait until my 2nd trimester because I, too, was trying to hold off until after I gave birth. But 9 months is a loooooooong time to look like crap. Chat Icon DD is 10 months- healthy and happy and smart as a whip.

ETA: My colorist was pregnant with me so she was around hair dye all the time. She moved her station to closer to the door so she can prop it open a bit for some ventilation but the chemicals in dyes these days are a far cry from what they used to be. I didn't use any special dye.

Ugh. Last time I had just dyed my hair a few days before I foudn out I was prengant so waiting until the 2nd trimester was no big deal.
This time I was already due for a touch up and now I have my nephew's Bar Mitzvah next week. My doctor told me to wait until the 2nd trimester. I'm going to see if I can use some root touchup powder or something and then as soon as I'm 13/14 weeks getting my hair dyed. I'll hvae like 4" of grey by then. LOL

It's all comfort level. I'm super cautious so I say not at all.... but I'll also eat a turkey sandwich while pregnant and lots of people won't, so...

I did but my hairdresser wouldn't touch me until the dr. cleared me and that was at about 16 weeks...and she used whatever she was comfortable with...my hair is one of those things for me, though...

Yes, however my color takes strangely on me when I'm pregnant due to hormones. I'm normally blond but will go slightly darker when pregnant because my blond color doesn't take as well when I'm pregnant.
