Janet Jackson welcomes baby boy!
It’s a boy!
Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana welcomed their first child, a son, on Tuesday, Jan. 3, her rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.
“Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world,” a rep for the singer, 50, says in a statement.
“Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably.”
Jackson married Qatari businessman Al Mana in 2012, and news of their first child’s impending arrival was reported in May. Speculation first began when the singer postponed her Unbreakable World Tour so, as she said in a video posted to Twitter in early April, she and Al Mana could focus on their family.
“We’re in the second leg of the tour, and there actually has been a sudden change,” she said in the clip. “I thought it was important that you be the first to know.”
“My husband and I are planning our family,” she continued. “So I’m going to have to delay the tour.”
In October, the singer shared a baby bump photo exclusively with PEOPLE, saying, “We thank God for our blessing".
Though Jackson has been fairly quiet regarding her pregnancy, she was spotted running errands for baby supplies at London’s Back in Action furniture store in September. And while she was out and about, Jackson kept her baby bump under wraps in sweatpants, a black sweater and a matching scarf.
Soon after the sighting, a source close to the Jackson family told PEOPLE Jackson was eager to become a mom for the first time.
“She is super excited about her pregnancy and is doing extremely well,” the source said in September. “She actually feels very good about everything.”

Her older brother Jermaine Jackson has also shared a few details of his youngest sister’s pregnancy journey.
“She’ll be a great mother because she is very tough, very strict,” Jermaine who has nine children of his own, said in May.
“But I tell her, ‘If you need any parenting skills or baby skills, let me know because I’m the best diaper changer there is on this planet, still to this day.’ ”

Well there is no way in hell I believe she carried or birthed this child herself, but however he got here, congrats to her and her family!

I tend to believe this too. She very well could have carried the baby. But unless she froze her eggs as a much younger woman, there's no way the baby is biologically from her eggs.
More power to her though if she can do it. I'm in my late 30's with a newborn and I feel 100 years old getting up all night long with the baby.

Exactly. Of course, she has the means to hire a baby nurse unlike us regular people! So, I think it's fine. My father was older when my brother and I were born, so her age doesn't really faze me.

A lot of the blind item sites are reporting that this has been faked all along because she had a tour that wasn't selling. Either way, good for her for having another baby even if she denies that she had her daughter back in like the 80s.

You have a problem with her lying? Yet you don't know if she is. Halle Berry had her second child just shy of 50; so in all honesty, it might be rare; but not impossible.
And why should she tell us; the public, the truth? Does it really matter? No, it actually doesn't. Janet Jackson doesn't owe you the truth of what goes on in her life....

What child 30 years ago, I've never heard that before and always thought I am up on the latest gossip. Googling I go!
Also she's so freaking rich she could have totally frozen her eggs. She doesn't seem like the type to be faking this for attention. She's been fairly quiet for years and years.

Yeah she supposedly had a daughter with her husband from DeBarge, but the baby was raised by her sister I think. So that's always been a secret. They say she faked this pregnancy as a way to get out of her tour which was not selling. Months and months of sales and preparations and then like the night before the tour she announces a pregnancy, like you wouldn't be prepping for a huge tour AND starting a family at age 50 when you've been out of the spotlight for how many years? Doesn't make sense. And don't we all know by now that the Jacksons are the orginal Kardashians???

She looked pretty pregnant to me. I don't think she faked this. Also, with her money she could have easily frozen eggs 15 plus years ago. Bottom line , I'm sure the baby will be loved and well cared for so congrats to them,
