But you not wanting to accept that he did not do what you say he did harms YOU. He is the president. He does not need you or your vote anymore. In this case, you have a very false belief that you are holding against him for no reason (again, in this case).

I think that has a lot to do with how the media spun this and the ads Hilary put out making it seem like he was mocking someone with autism.

Actually no. I saw the instance before it was even a commercial for Hillary. Still had the same opinion. Not replying anymore, because we obviously disagree. Goodnight.

I actually think this is such an important issue because the majority of Americans are stupid and cannot formulate a thought or opinion for themselves and blindly believe anything they see or hear. The media does everything for shock value and ratings and people eat it up. We need more responsible reporting.

Maybe not some who won't give him a chance and has their mind set, such as a few of you on LIF. But since he is our president, a lot of people were on the fence and yes, they should know the truth. May make someone else feel better about him after reading or watching re his "making fun of a disabled person".

So let's say he didn't make fun of a disabled person. There are about 5,000 other reasons why people who didn't support him think he's a piece if $hit and will make a terrible president. It's just not worth it to try and convince anyone of anything.
At the end of that day, we all have to deal with him as President but that doesn't mean we need to like him or support his agenda. I cast my vote just two short days ago and it wasn't for him, in those 48 hrs since I will not all of a sudden be convinced to jump on the "Trump Train".

I for one am going to give him a chance. Pretty sure he will fail miserably  but I am going to try (by next week some time) to keep my snotty comments to myself and focus on what he is doing now and going forward.

Just because I voted for him, does not mean I approve of the way he ran his campaign entirely at all. I don't approve of the way Hillary behaved in many regards either. But in the end I voted for the person who I think has the better concept on the issues I find most important. Will he succeed in my eyes or fail? That will be determined. No one knows how any president will truly do in the end.

Seriously, this post is stupid and that website is a joke.
That said, let's just say for arguments sake that he was not mocking the reporter's disability. He was just mocking him backpedaling or whatever nonsense. Cool. You still defend this behavior? This post is ridiculous as are the sources you quoted. How about you attempt to defend the amount of hate crimes that have skyrocketed in the last two days in the name of Trump, or perhaps racism, sexism, bigotry, etc. are some of the concepts that you find so important.

Thank you to the OP for trying to open people's eyes . For the record, I also have a few disabilities. I've had one since I was a young child. I also family members that have disabilities, too and was not offended by this. Nor did I think he was mocking the reporter for being disabled.

Yes. I remember this being a thing too. Hence my post above saying he reminds me of a junior high boy. He is highly offensive. Highly. Even if he didn't "mean it," it is offensive to many people (not just one or two overly sensitive ones), and he is absolutely responsible.

Serge Kovaleski (the disabled reporter) covered Trump from '87-'93 for the Daily News and knew him on a first name basis, having talked with and interviewed him over a dozen times. So, for this lying pile of dung to claim " I have no idea who Serge Kovaleski is, what he looks like or his level of intelligence" is an outright LIE. A pathetic way to excuse his disgusting actions.

This thread is so highly offensive to me as a disabled adult. I'm speechless.
Perception is reality, sometimes. Let's just for arguments sake say he didn't mock the reporter. The perception is that he did, and that makes an already highly marginalized group feel even more marginalized by the PRESIDENT ELECT. Could that be the fault of the media? Absolutely. IMO he didn't do enough to convince me he believes that my vote as a disabled woman would matter to him. To Trump I don't even exist.
He's also in favor of cutting several programs that allow the disabled to be active members of the community. Most of you here have more experience with disabled children. I urge you to think about what that means when the children in your life grow up to become adults.
