Double stroller help

Which is good for a 3 1/2 year old and a newborn? I would prefer something more lightweight and that folds up easily. TIA

Double stroller help

I have two. My girls are 24 months apart.

Joovy x2 side by side Use it for parks, zoo, etc. huge basket. One hand fold

Joovy caboose sit and stand. Lightweight. Folds easily. Small basket so good for quick things. Dd2 sits in front and dd1 can sit or stand in the back and hop on end off.

What do you plan to use it for? My girls are 2.5 years apart and I didn't use the double much at first. I stuck with the snap and go and dd1 walked.

I do have a b agile double that I love. In the beginning I used it once in a while for big trips like parks or the zoo. Dd2 was born in November so we weren't doing that stuff until spring anyway. Now, they are almost 2 and 4.5 and I use it daily to walk dd1 to prek. The canopies are huge, basket is huge and accessible, folds easily, lightweight, and super easy to maneuver. Coming from someone who has never liked s stroller other than the snap and go, I really do love this stroller!

Mostly just walking through the neighborhood to the park and local stores. Now I'm thinking a side by side may not be a great idea because some doorways are smaller.

I have the city select. My DSs will be 18 months apart. I like how you can configure it many different ways and snap a car seat in. The only negative is it's super heavy, even as a single.

Double stroller help

For my twins I'm looking into the Chicco Cortina or the Contours Tandem stroller- they are both front to back

Side by sides should fit through doorways bc they're usually designed to be no wider than a wheelchair. That said, navigating through aisles and clothing racks isn't easy. I really don't use mine for shopping other than once or twice in the mall. I opted for a side by side bc it seemed the tandem strollers were more difficult to push and steer.

I have a 3.5yo and a 1.5yo and love the City Mini Double. I've never had a problem with it being too wide.

I have a b ready double that I love, just wish it was a little lighter. I also have the britax side by side and for walks it's great, but maneuvering in any store is a huge PITA. I'm constantly having to back track just to get one rack over, passing by others with a stroller in a store is impossible. While I like not having to bend over to deal with one kid, I hate shopping with the side by side. The city select is also similar to the b ready, but you have better access to the basket, my qualm with the set up of the city select is the positioning with the seat in the front is also a PITA to maneuver in stores. Last, but not least, I have the Maclarean side by side double which is light weight, easier to maneuver in stores and a perfect stroller for a quick trip, parks etc. Still a little wide for most stores, plus there is limited storage so it's not something I use if I'm planning a shopping day. Overall the b ready is my absolute favorite.

Re: Double stroller help

for walking around the neighborhood, i love love love my city mini double. I have no problem fitting in any doorways. It is a great stroller; very easy to maneuver. My kids are 15 months apart and I used it as soon as we brought ds home from the hospital. I would walk 2+ miles a day with it while on maternity leave. My mom still uses it daily (easily able to push a 2.5 yo and an almost 4yo).
The only downside is it takes up a lot of space when folded.

Since the city mini double is big (and a bit heavy to fold) we got a joovy front to back for trips to the zoo etc...i hate it. I find it much harder to push a front to back when the kids get older. I felt the strain in my arms. Since it is not something I need to do daily, I would rather deal with folding up the city mini double and use that when going to the zoo, etc.

We love and use our city mini double for our kids. I got it when they were 1 and 4 and they are now 5 and 2. Its super easy to use and maneuvers great. Folds flat which is nice.
