Star check?
Has anyone received it yet? New homeowners get checks now and they were supposed to be delivered in September.

I'd have to ask my husband what number he called but thank god we did because apparently the county no longer handles it & the state now does. We mailed our application so long ago & never heard/got anything. we called & apparently the county never forwarded our application to the state  & that's why we never heard/got anything. my husband had to reapply over the phone & they said we should have the check by December.

Ugh I had called the state a few weeks ago and they said October. I'm calling now to make sure they have all my info and will ask and post what they tell me.
ETA: If you filled out the form before 7/1 you should receive a check in the next week or two
After 7/1 you'll receive it by the end of the year

I filed after 7/1. I only found out about it after 7/1. The letter I got informing me was dated 7/8

I just called and was told they started to generate checks. However, mine did not have a status. I have to call back in mid-October if I do not receive it by then (FYI- I filed back in June).

Did anyone receive their STAR check? I have not received mine and I filed before July 1st. I just called again and they said they were delayed. Nassau County was supposed to get them by October since this is when our school taxes are due.
I read that apparently they messed up the amounts for a whole bunch on Enhanced STAR checks in upstate NY and some people were depending on those checks to pay their taxes.
Our taxes are escrowed so it doesn't affect us but I feel bad for those who were waiting on theirs to pay their taxes.

I didn't get mine yet either. I only found out about this on 7/8 when I got my letter in the mail. Last I was told was January, that my application was processed but the check won't be sent until January- which I'm guessing the sole reason they aren't mailing them is because they will be more broke than they already are if we all got them at the same time. My taxes are escrowed as well and due 12/1. Oh well it is what it is
