Maybe a giftcard to a restaurant so she doesn't have to cook.

I would not want gift cards, etc. When people are sad or going though tough situations an old fashion phone call and a follow up in a few weeks to see how she is feeling IMO is best next to a simple card letting her know she is in your thoughts. A visit from a caring friend also speaks volumes
