Conversations with a toddler...

This morning dd saw dh's bag of chocolate on thr table while we getting ready to leave. I walked over and she was petting the bag.

Me - what are you doing?
Dd - petting the chocolate. My tummy says I need chocolate Pease.
Me - when we come home tonight you can have some after dinner
Dd - no, my tummy says now
Me - tell tummy, mommy said later
DD - tummy sad

She walked away with such a dejected look on her face.

Conversations with a toddler...

My daughter is only 8 months old so she is still too young to talk yet but I overheard a funny conversation between a mom and her DD the other day. The little girl made a sound, to me it sounded like she burped.
Mom: Say excuse me!
DD: Mommy I can't say excuse me. It wasn't me, it was my butt.

The mom burst out laughing and so did I!!

Conversations with a toddler...

Many years ago, my Goddaughter was about 3 and was doing something that was aggravating her mother. Her mother said ". . . ., you're driving me up the wall!" My Goddaughter, with a confused look on her face, turned and pointed to a wall and asked, "This wall?"

Conversations with a toddler...

DD was a little over 2 at the time...

We were potty training and took the kids to Costco. We sat down for pizza before leaving. DD was sitting next to me and I thought I smelled something. I leaned in and quietly asked, "Did you make a kaka?" She looked me, leaned closer, and loudly said, "No mommy, did YOU make a kaka?" The tables around us burst out. She really can project her voice!

Re: Conversations with a toddler...

When DD was first potty trained, we went out to eat. As soon as the food came, she needed to use the bathroom. On the way back to the table from across the crowded restaurant, she yells out, "Daddy! I just did poop on the potty!" I just did poop!!!!!!!

Conversations with a toddler...

Two things.

1) driving with my DH and nephew a few years back coming home from adventure land. The three year old randomly asked my DH, who shaves his head, "can you tell me a story about when you had hair."

2) another time, again driving, we're silent for a few minutes just enjoying the ride, and he bursts out singing Celine Dion's " All by Myself. "

2)

My younger DS is 5 and is "married" to my best friend's daughter. We were talking about babies before and DH asked him if he wants to have a baby when he's older. He said, "that's up to Taylor's stomach" Chat Icon

Conversations with a toddler...

My son started jumping on the couch. I looked at him and said "are you crazy?" He smiled at me and said "yes!"

He got a new paw patrol toy yesterday. He hasn't let go of it since. We were waiting for the bathroom
Next to another mom and her son. My son goes up to the boy and says "I'm NOT sharing okay?!"

Conversations with a toddler...

Dd is getting her two year old molar and she has been resistant to letting me see what is going on...
Me: Open your mouth so Mama can see your teeth.
Dd: No fingers
Me: I promise I will not touch your teeth.
Dd: I no trust your fingers

Re: Conversations with a toddler...

My almost 2 year old calls farts "puup puup" (thank you pop pop). The other day she farted, said "puup puup" and turned her behind into my hubby's face.

Conversations with a toddler...

My ds just turned 3 and when you ask him a question, he puts his pointer finger on his chin and says, "Hmmmm let me think....no (or yes)."

DD is 4 and my ds was trying to get her to misbehave and she replied, "I am responsible for my own self. I cannot be responsible for your actions."
