Where did everyone get their cribs from? I am thinking we might end up ordering the furniture online because for the most part the floor models at BRU and BBB seem to be really pricey. I'd love to find something in the $250-$400 range, but I'd like to get a matching furniture set and from what I've heard the cheaper dressers fall apart. Do regular furniture stores have reasonably priced nursery furniture? I"m in Nassau County.

I'd love to see what other people say but Babyletto is pretty popular in the city. It's a more modern feel but in your price range. We are ordering a crib and changing table from them.

Our crib is from Pottery Barn. It's the Kendall crib and is in that price range. I picked up a floor model which they provided new hardware for for half the price. Pottery Barn outlet is worth a shot and definitely Ikea. Can't help with furniture because I repurposed a dresser instead of buying one new, but I'm into that kind of stuff.

Ordered both kids sets from jcpenney online. One of them (most expensive set at the time on jcp) held up great and I still like it and the second I paid a few hundred cheaper and you can def tell, not a fan at all.

Re: Cribs

DD Graco Lauren in white and mixed in white dresser. 3 years and looks brand new, now using as a toddler bed. From target.

DS I forget but under $150 from Walmart, delta I think? I mixed it with ikea espresso dresser and nightstand.

Personally, I do not believe in expensive furniture for young kids. Some kids (mine haven't but friends have) use crib rails as teethers and are generally rough.

I'd rather wait to invest in furniture when they are old enough to respect it.

For my DS we got from BRU... it was still pretty expensive I believe $400. We are now using it for my DD. I agree with a PP though I wouldn't go crazy spending an insane amount. The crib has teeth marks on it from my DS teething on it.

Re: Cribs

I got my crib at Target for about $300. It took a beating for three years with DS and is still in good condition for #2.

I absolutely LOVE the Ikea Hemnes dresser for a dresser/changer. Its the perfect height for me (Im 5'9") to change the baby on top of it and it holds a ton of clothes. It grew with my DS who is now 4.5 and I just went and bought a new one for this baby. It only costs $250. All the ones in the baby stores look so small and cheap in comparison and cost a lot more.

Got ours at BuyBuy Baby for both kids. I wouldn't order online since I'd like to see it in person to see the quality, design, and size.

We got ours from wayfair.com! The best prices! Amazon had the same crib for $100 more!

After 2 kids that hated their cribs and were out before 12 months, I agree.

We bought a crib from amazon (either graco or delta?) , half off for 100.00. We have a dresser already.
