Good bar/restaurant in midtown ny
Meeting a friend for drinks on Tuesday looking for a good place in midtown somewhat close to penn.. Suggestions ?

If you don't mind walking a couple of avenues - The Gingerman. 36th and 5th. Excellent beer and whiskey selection, good food, fun place.

Stout is a big Irish bar/restaurant on 33rd btwn 6th and 7th.
American Whiskey on 30th btwn 7th and 8th
Tir Na Nog - more upscale irish place on 8th ave and 33rd
There are literally tons of places around there

They have another location not far away, but it's not the same...
But they ARE reopening the one in 5 Penn in Jan or Feb. They are moving it around a bit in that location to make way for the bank, etc and it might be smaller- but we know the owner and they are definitely reopening after renovations....
