My heat is on- the thermostat is set at 68 so if the temperature in the house drops below 68 the heat goes on--I don't care what date is on the calendar I need to be comfortable in my own home.

Same here.

Granted we really need to get our wood stove going so the house is comfortable.

I always try to hold out, but this is what it for us too. My heat only kicked on 3 times since early this morning, not too bad (energy wise) and very comfortable.

Re: heat?

I had to put mine on for a few hours to give the kids a bath. It was just too cold! Before kids I wouldn't turn it on until Nov.

Re: heat?

I woke up to 63 degrees upstairs, so I imagine it was about 55 downstairs. So on went the heat. We have gas though, so I'm not concerned about the expense of turning the heat on earlier than November, etc. Gas is cheap

Nope. My house is only like 63, we keep our heat at 64. Why bother? Chat Icon

Re: heat?

We had it on earlier but now I'm fairly buzzed on some wine so IDGAF if it's a little chilly.

We were cold yesterday, so we turned it on. It's not on today though because we aren't cold.

Re: heat?

If we didn't have our daughter, it wouldn't have been turned on. The thermostat was reading 64...we had to put it on (just downstairs) on Friday for a little bit but it's been off all weekend since it's been warmer.

We didn't turn in on yet, but on Friday we put the fire place on. It was so damp and cold.

Re: heat?

We put it on for an hour last night to take the chill out of the air upstairs for bath time. Then shut if off.

heat?

Hey, I lived in Minnesota at one time so I understand why this question might be asked. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I think this question will be skewed by two factors: #1) you will get answers from those who are not on a budget tight enough to care. #2) You will get answers from those more thrifty who care ALOT when the heat bill is added onto their budget. I am in the latter, put on a sweater, sweatshirt whatever. You never know how cold the winter will get and Lord knows, it will for sure be MUCH colder than now.

Re: heat?

what? no way - I'm still sleeping w/ my window open !!
My house is at 62 at night, and 68 during the day ........otherwise my kids are complaing they're hot, and I can't breathe. I have an almost immediate allergy/asthma attack when I go into someone's house where the heat is on over 70 ........
