Wasabi - weird question
Does wasabi lose its effectiveness the more you eat it? I've been eating sushi pretty regularly and have found that I can use more and more wasabi without dying. 
In the beginning, I could only use a tad.
What gives ?

personally, I think it depends on where you get it. I find some places are super hot, while others are barely spicy!

Yes, this! It also depends on the wasabi.

After reading this, I see that wasabi is related to mustard, and, to me, there are a lot of different mustards.
It also says that the hotness can change depending on the liquid you add. Have you ever made wasabi? you usually add water to the powder to make it into a paste. I make wasabi mayo often, so after I've made the paste, I can control how hot it is by adding more mayo.
