Test or not? UPDATE at Bottom

AF was due today but I'm only 8 DPO because I have a short luteal phase....I don't feel like AF is coming but I do feel weird tightness in lower belly. Should I still hold off a few days?

Test or not?

I am pretty sure the earliest you can implant is 7dpo. If your LP is only 8 days long, you may want to see a doctor about lengthening it if you are having trouble TTC.
I always take a test for piece of mind. For me it's easier to see a negative than to stress myself out about every little "sign". But that is me. I hope you get your BFP!!

Saw Dr. about this 2 months ago because I was worried but she said women can get pregnant with a short luteal phase. She said I need to wait 6 months of TTC to do much more (I'm 35). But thank you!

Hopefully it doesn't take that long, but if you take B6 everyday I heard it can lengthen it., which will increase your chances.

That was quick, got period on 8 DPO! I've been taking B-100 Complex and Vitex for months and luteal phase hasn't changed. Ugh.

I am sorry :( Maybe if you go to a RE they will do something before you get to the 6 month mark. You can get pregnant with a short LP, women have a chance of getting pregnant with any issue they have, but it's going to be harder since implantation usually takes place between 7 & 12dpo. So if you are a 8DPO LP your body is only giving itself 1 day to implant. I have been TTC almost 2 years so I hate to see women go through the process if it's an easy fix like progesterone Chat Icon

I'm sorry you are going through this process so long. I hope you are able to get your BFP soon. Chat Icon I am going to see a new doctor to talk about progesterone because I also don't feel like I'm getting the attention I want. I took Day 3 testing last month and I couldn't even get the doctor to call me back just to get my results--I had to stalk the office daily. She was fine as just my OBGYN for my yearly visits but not what I need now. Sadly, DH will be away for 2 weeks straight during my O phase next month so we are on to September!

How are you confirming ovulation?

If you do, in fact, have an 8 day LP, then you have a LP defect and it needs to be addressed. But, if it's actually longer, then you should be fine.

However, you ABSOLUTELY don't have to wait 6 months to see an RE if you suspect something is wrong.

Temping, CM and using wondfos basically everyday and starting at Day 14 and using Clear Blue Easy Digital Ovulation Tests.

I guess I don't even know if an RE is the person that would be giving me something for luteal phase or just an OBGYN. I made an appt with a new OBGYN for this coming week and figure he can hopefully refer me to an RE.

Re: Test or not? UPDATE at Bottom

So on Tuesday at 8 DPO, I thought I got AF (earlier post in thread). It was only a little and didn't continue during the week (even though I thought it could be implantation bleeding it was not the right color--it was bright red). Fast forward to yesterday---DH and I are in CA for a wedding and I still haven't gotten AF and I took a Wondfo test and I see a little faint line. DH didn't believe me at first until he did some googling. Today at 11 DPO, I took a FRER and it's a BFP. I'm SHOCKED!! Chat Icon

Thanks ladies! I'm hoping it sticks too. The line isn't getting any darker on the Wondfo strips but I googled the batch number and apparently other people have had issues with them. The FRER definitely says Pregnant though!
