Call me greedy...but (Birth Announcements)

I wish I could put where we're registered on the birth announcement card. Tacky, right?

ETA-- ppl,are taking this Post way too seriously. Was just looking for some fellow registry stalkers to make jokes about wanting their fun things. Not to imply I want to pressure ppl into buying me things.

Wait, I'm confused -- you've had the baby already and want to put where you are registered on that? Did you not have a baby shower/sprinkle? Or did you not have the baby yet and you mean pregnancy announcement? Either way to be honest, I would say no.

I'm Jewish so we don't have a baby shower, so was just reflecting that i wished it were easier to show people where we're registered, but obviously it's not classy to tell everyone in such a way...(Didn't have baby yet)

Since you won't be having a baby shower then I dont see how it can be viewed as greedy or tacky at all, besides ppl close enough to you that you would send birth announcements to are probably ppl that want to get you gifts anyway so they may find it helpful. Buying off a registry is optional, so anyone who may not want to use it they don't have to but for others the info is there. Also, if you still feel strange about it, maybe have a parent send the announcements & it can include a card or note that says "the proud parents are registered at..."

Im Jewish and I don't think I would get a shower when I have a baby, but my co worker did not register and I did not know what to buy. I would want to know where and what you want, then I can decide if I want to buy and send.

just a side note. I would prefer cash as a gift instead of GC bc I will never use a card. At times I would love to state that on invites but people have told me that is rude lol

I have GC in my draw from 1 years ago!!

I think it's tacky personally. I would think people would ask you or your parents/siblings, etc where you are registered if they're interested in purchasing something from your registry. To me it looks like you're saying "I had my baby, now send me a gift". Sorry.

why should people have to ask everyone. If people asked my family, my mom would say I don't know.

Asking for gifts is rude. Always. Unless it is for a shower, which is an event that is specifically for gift-giving.

I didn't have a baby shower. I didn't share my registry information on birth announcements. I would never want people that I was sharing my happy news with think that I expected something from them. Many people sent gifts. Many found my registry themselves. Many sent things that they picked out on their own. Many didn't send a gift. All of it is fine. Who cares if you get something that isn't exactly what you want?

Why so much anger around the topic?? Haha I was just saying it would make it easier. Everyone who would receive a birth announcement from me knows me very well and knows it's no pressure to send anything but for those that don't know how to find registry it would be nice for them...

I think it's tacky and soliciting gifts.

I'm Jewish too and didn't have a shower with my first and obviously not with my second. People found my registry on their own or asked my dad, in laws, where we were registered...or even asked me.

My friend is jewish and her mother sent out the birth announcements and included where they were registered, which i think is a great idea Especially because when everyone is rushing to pick something up you will end up with a lot of clothes instead of what you need.

I think it's tacky to include the registry in a birth announcement. If they want to send you gifts they will. If they want to find out where you are registered they will ask or look on the two main baby stores: buy buy baby and babies r us.

Trust me if they want to find out where you are registered they will!

Or thebump.com and it pulls any and all registries. Bru, bbb, target, pottery barn. People will find it if they want to

I'm sorry to be so blunt, but that is incredibly rude. In my/DH's families this would not be viewed positively AT ALL- and DH's family is Jewish.

If someone wants to buy you a gift, they will find where you're registered.
