Rock n play vs swing

What is the difference ? Do you need both or just one? If so, which one do you recommend ?

Rock n play vs swing

I had a swing with my DD and not the Rock and Play. I plan on getting a Rock and Play with this pregnancy for the baby to sleep in while in my room. I also have my swing which will be set up in my living room.

With my DD, I borrowed a bassinet from a friend. My DD HATED it. I had to put her bouncy seat in the bassinet and strap her in the bouncy seat so she was on an incline and had the vibrations.

The Rock & Play that I am getting rocks on its own, vibrates, plays music and can be used with batteries or plugged in.

I would def recommend both. Dd slept in her rnp for the first 7 weeks in our bedroom before going to her crib. We traveled with it so she could sleep in it. Used it in the bathroom so I could shower. Etc.

The swing was great for soothing and naps. It moves unlike the rnp

I would also recommend both. DS slept in the RNP for 8 weeks since he hated his bassinet. We used the swing during the day and he would nap in there.

I too recommend both! My little one slept in the rock and play and napped and hung out in the swing!

I recommend both. Sometimes only the swing would soothe him. He napped in the rnp for a LONG time.

Rock n play vs swing

We don't have the rock n play with DS, but when we have another baby we will be getting it because the cradle was a disaster with DS. We have a swing, but DS hates that as well. He will stay/sleep in the rocking part (we have the Graco one that you can take the rocker off or leave it on for the swing), but does not like the motion/sound of the swing. He slept in the Fisher Price Lil Lamb Infant Seat for the first 6 weeks of his life.

I had both: they are very different.

Your kid may love or hate the swing (I had one of each).

We used the RNP for a travel bed.

Don't have either. DS slept in NICU for the first 5 days, then was in a PNP for about 2 weeks, then was in his own crib after that. He loves the swing at daycare. We still use the PNP for when we travel.

I definitely recommend both. DD slept in the rock n play until she was 3 months, now we use it for naps. She loves the swing! She will play in it for a while and most of the time it puts her to sleep.I must say, both were lifesavers for me on the beginning!!

Re: Rock n play vs swing

Both! They're pretty different. Rock n play is very portable and they can sleep in it over night if need be. The swing swings by itself though and that is also a delight. Not very portable though.

Rock n play vs swing

With my DD we used a RNP and plan to use it this time around. I had a swing for my DS(before RNPs). I personally prefer the RNP.
