Costco AMEX and I get a check every year that I can just cash or use at Costco. Although, I heard on the news last week that they cut ties with AMEX and won't be using them anymore next year. Chat Icon

Jetblue card. I got it 2 years ago. They were giving a bonus 20,000 miles if you spent $1000 in the first 3 months. I was able to pay for 3 flights to Florida last year. This year I can either pay for 3 out of 4 flights to Florida or 2 flights to Aruba.

I didn't know this about Costco and Amex. I guess that means they will be accepting other credit cards.

I just got a letter that AMEX is increasing my Optimum rate, it was too low and they are bringing it in line with rates on other products. Given that my rate was in the 7% range and they are raising it to the 12% range, I'm pissed. Plus, I've had this card for more than 20 years! Needless to say, I do not plan to use this card ever again given that they have chosen profits over customer loyalty. Seriously, if they raised it by 1-2%, I wouldn't be happy but I'd deal with it. Now, f--- them.

Sorry to hi-jack but does Jet Blue have black out dates with Amex?

Amex has a lot of great benefits. You have purchase protection on your items for 30 days - if it breaks or is stolen it is insured. They also extend warranties on products for up to one year.

They also have offers for you to add to your card - I just got $25 back for paying my fios bill with my Amex and $10 back on my soap.com purchase. They have offers for so many stores and restaurants, small business Saturday, Restaurant Week, and a lot more.

Yes we have the same card. It won't be valid after March 2016. I'm really going to miss it! I loved getting my big costco check!

No blackout date, you just need more points to fly during peak times.

FYI. Amex & Jetblue are cutting ties as well. This message pops up when you click on the Amex application on JB's website.

IMPORTANT! American Express' agreement with this co-brand partner expires on December 31, 2015. This means that if you apply and receive a card, it may be converted to a different card product around the end of 2015. The timing and terms of the new card product are not yet available. Please consider this as you proceed with your application.

I think DH has gold.... He likes it because of the points accumulation and the wide variety of things you can use the points for. When we redid our kitchen, and bought our cars, we put everything on the card (and paid it the second we got home) just so that we could rack up the points, instead of paying by check or debit card. Haven't used the points, but we were looking at how many we have and we were surprised.

We have AMEX gold cards and try to put everything on them to get points. I have gone to Europe on points a number of times, paid for hotels with points, gotten large gift cards to upscale stores. I love it.

Amex Blue
(Not the JetBlue card, just Blue.)

This card has no fees.

Like others, I charge everything and pay off monthly. I even charged downpayment on my car. Chat Icon

We've probably gotten 10K worth of Home Depot gift cards from points over the past 10 years.

Gold. I just check and the noticed $175 for yearly membership. Bummer. But we've booked flights using the points, so it's like you know you're going to pay your bill in right away, why not use your CC and rack up the points.

We have the Gold card. We use it for everything and accumulate the miles. We've flown to Hawaii first class 5 times just using miles.

Everything that we would normally pay cash for, we put on the card and pay it off when we get the bill.
