How old is she? And how many hours a week does she work for you?

Cash is the best or Visa gift card.

Gift for Babysitter

She is in her 30's.. works 30 hours a week. She is very sweet and we have a great relationship. Bought a board game for her 2 children (frozen bc they're obsessed) and felt like cash wasn't personal enough.

I think you have to give her one week's pay.

$400 for a Christmas gift???
Don't get me wrong I adore her, but she has only been watching DD for 3 months. I don't even spend $400 on my husband or parents.

I wanted to get her something, but that is definitely not in budget.

Am I cheap if I got her a gift card for $50-$100?

Is she going to be working for you 30 hrs a week going forward through the next year? If so, I would give $200 -- half of what you would have given if she worked the whole year.
My babysitter worked full time this year -- im giving her the weeks pay.

I think $100 is fine, especially if it's only been 3 months. If she's still working for you next year, I'd bump it up.

A weeks pay is the norm for more of a part time nanny IMO... Otherwise, the cost skyrockets. I have normally received around $100 for Xmas gift plus a little something from the child. Considering she's only been with you for 3 months, $50 sounds good too. Cash is always appreciated.

Yep: that's a lot. We did less for our babysitter when she was watching the same period of time. We did cash gift that was 1 day's worth (so 1/3 of OUR weekly)...& I bought her a coffee mug (she likes traveling mugs). She was very happy.
