Can someone school me on a second home (mortgage related)
Just curious about the rate difference between primary res and investment property. Is there a difference?
What about Star (I think that's only available on primary Res)

Hello Journey there is actually a difference between a owner occupied home and investment when it comes to rate. But a second home and primary residence are treated the same way so there would be no difference when it comes to interest rates. Hope that helps a little.

This... we have my childhood home & we pay a higher interest rate on the mtg and get no star benefits. Thankfully it's still tax deductible.
(It's not an investment, just a "vacation" home.)
