I would do it in person and depending on how you feel if you were to give them notice at all, one week is good enough for a part time employee.

I never like to burn any type of work bridge so I would give two weeks notice.

I would go in person and say " I will stay for a week or two if you need me" just so that you are making the offer and letting them decide how long they want you to remain on.
