Israel discovers Hamas manual on "human shield"

Of course Israel found this, but why is it that they don't find these supposed tents being set up?

Lets remove Hamas from the table, were the people in that video acting as shields?

On another note, prior to Hamas being elected, how were the Palestinian people treated by Israel?

I realize you can go around and around people want to believe what the want even if the evidence is right there. I wasn't there to see them shooting missals near children and schools so it must be fake! I just think you should try to think if people were out to kill me and say so over and over yes I would try to put them in prison to keep myself and family safe. Israel treats Palestinians and Hamas better then all of the surrounding neighbors. Israel wants peace but Hamas and factions refuse to be the partner in peace. But again this discussion is going nowhere if you can't see the evidence in front of you!

Okay, so how many of the 300 children killed were members of Hamas?

And you are not answering my question, how were Palestinians treated by Israel prior to Hamas?

All of the children were killed by Hamas decision to attack Israel and put weapons near schools, hospitals, hotels where there are women and children. The Palestinian people were as well as Israeli citizens Hospitals treat all children regardless of Arab or Jews transplants are done by order. I would like to see an Israeli child or a soldier be treated in a Palestinian hospital. Enemy soldiers are treated next to IDF soldiers what are you talking about how would an Israeli soldier be treated when falling into the hands of Hamas or Palestinians .. Why don't they give Israel a chance by stopping rockets not one child would be hurt. Israel deserves to be recognized as a neighbor and then negotiations would begin and barriers would come Dow in the mean time it has an obligation to protect citizens!

Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2007. What do you mean? They were "unoccupied" for 7 years- Israel was out of the equation. Still Hamas was elected by them!

I'm not sure you understand what a "human shield" is.

Hamas hides their weapons under heavily occupied civilian places (schools, hospitals, homes) because they think Israel will not target them in order to spare civilian lives. Thus making the actual lives a "shield" to protect their weapons.

Obviously, Hamas was not completely correct.

ETA: So yes, it does look like he was "made" a human shield. The Palestinian citizens aren't willingly throwing themselves in front of rockets/bombs, they are being forced to let Hamas use their homes, hospitals, etc. for weapons storage and then have no where else to go.

I know what it means. But there have been stating that Hamas directed it's citizens to act as human shields, someone even posted a video.

I don't know if Hamas directed people they just forced people to be shields putting rockets and tunnels in schools, in buildings in the hope that I'd they shoot rockets from these sites Israel will not hit back unfortunately for those poor people Israel did hit the buildings in order to stop the rockets that's Hamas using human shields I don't think people just wanted to be sacrificed !

Just have to say what normal people put guns, rockets, weapons inside schools, homes, who uses their own children as human shields! This has been documented many times by both reporters who report the truth! That's why there are so many children who died. Israel does not kill children unless there shooting from inside schools, or even have explosives booby trapped inside building and walls. Yes I feel terrible that any child should die but Israel is in a situation where it's their citizens or the people digging the tunnels and shooting the rockets Yes, we have to defend our people and our children. If the people of Gaza would care about human life theirs or ours they would never be in this horrible situation!

I completely agree.

I think we should move away from the inflammatory rhetoric that Palestinians don't care about human life or their children. First I hear that Palestinians are the victims and Hamas is the enemy and then I hear they don't care so why should anyone else care how many people on the flip side die..that doesn't work. Saying that Hamas is using " human shields" (a term I abhor) is like giving a free pass to brute force used by the IDF.

You may abhor the term human shields but that's not going to change what is being done in Gaza, denying the reality of what is being done to innocent people is giving Hamas a free pass to continue this horrible strategy. Yes, brute force is sometimes very necessary saving the lives of the Israeli people at the other end. When your life and the lives of your children are at stake I want the IDF using any force necessary to stop the aggression. The IDF is saving and protecting the lives of its citizens just let Hamas stop shooting rockets and missals and all the shooting will stop. Why not recognize and become a true partner in peace and maybe then the people of Gaza can thrive. Let Hamas use their money to educate, protect, and build up their land aggression and force would not be necessary for Israel to survive!

I abhor violence. In fact, my personal belief system is closer to pacifism or non-violent demonstration ( ala Gandhi) However, I am honest about human nature and history. You would be hard pressed to find ANY country who would show restraint when being attacked, especially when the people attacking them has its destruction as their stated goal. In fact, I think Israel is being pretty gentle. At almost any other point in history, Gaza would have been completely taken over and living under martial law. I can think of no other instance, in which a nation who is so much more technologically advanced/ militarily superior DOESN'T control the land around it. So, on a historical scale, Israel is behaving very well. Certainly, if the tables were turned, I highly doubt Palestinians would do the same. The Hamas charter states as much.
I agree that it is unfair to lump all Palestinians with Hamas. I'm sure there are Palestinians who are terrified and just want peace. However, we cannot overlook the fact that 44% of population voted for Hamas. Now, those numbers might not be accurate, but even if the number was 25 or 30% that's not an insignificant part of the population. I think we have to conclude that there are a decent number of Palestinians who do support Hamas and its mission.

This discussion can go on and on! Doesn't get anywhere There are many people in my family that have kids in the IDF. American kids volunteering to do a job to protect a country that isn't even theirs. But they feel a duty and pride of protecting the state of Israel and their families are very proud of their decision to serve. They are not going there to kill innocent people. They are not trained as killers, they aren't looking to harm women and children! They only want to protect a country that is sacred to their hearts and souls. It is only my hope and dreams that in my lifetime or that of my children peace will come and the money and resources that Israel has to use in order to maintain an army trained to protect its citizens can be used to help all the people both Arab and Israeli.

See Palestinians are desperate...and Hamas feeds on that. Israel has the right to defend itself , nobody is questioning that but I do think the blows could have been softened. It doesn't help when israeli politicians come on tv and say that the deaths of children should considered collateral damage...comments like that burn shows that Israel is willing to accept the death of palestinian civilians. There is disproportionate force used from one side, the numbers show it and that is what is causing this "war " on social media.

Would it solve any problems if more children were killed on the Israeli side, would it then be proportioned? Israel could have bombed out Gaza and saved many lives of its soldiers chose not to because of mounting civilian casualties . It cost them many lives no country including ours would allow that to happen!
