Fever in this heat

Do you do anything special if your LO has a fever during this kind of heat? DD had a very mild fever yesterday and then today it was around 100. Now it's up over 102.Chat Icon Aside from tylenol/motrin, is there anything else I should do? I've been trying to keep her hydrated as best I can.

a lukewarm bath.

Not warm, but not "cold". Lukewarm to cool.

Oh no! Wtf is going around!! Aside from Tylenol, bath/cool rag, I'm not sure if there is anything else you can do! Poor thing... Wonder if she's got the same thing as Lia... So strange!!

My son's ped said that there's a virus going around. Last week DS missed daycare 1 1/2 days (he only goes 2) and the owner said 5 other kids called out those days too.

Hope everyone's LO's feel better soon.

Thanks ladies. I didn't have enough time for a bath but did a cool washcloth.

Yeah, I was going to ask what your ped said yesterday but I figured it was such a mild fever it would just fade in a day or two and it was almost a week since they were together. Then tonight it went over 102 when she wasn't even quite at the 6 hour mark from her last motrin so that's what really threw me. How long did it last for her? Hope she's better now!

DS who is 2 just got over a fever/cold/cough and DD who is 4 just got it today. She fell asleep an hour ago and couldn't get her fever to go below 101.4 for a good hour and a half even with motrin...it finally went down to 100.

I did a little research online and it said to have them stay as cool as possible so I have the central air on in the house, she has her bedroom fan on circulating the air gently and I ptu the cool mist humidier on. I also had a cool compress on her forehead for a while.

Hopefully she sleeps comfortably through the night.
