OPK not really working??

Hi I have been reading all of your posts but haven't posted myself much. I have an almost 2 year old and am trying for a second. With my first, I used OPK and was pregnant the first month. Now, I've been using OPK's again for a few months and nothing. I know it could take a while but I'm just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences. I've had two miscarriages also, one before and after my first was born. So, I thought I wouldn't have any trouble getting pregnant because I usually don't. Just a little confused and would like to hear opinions of others. Have OPKs not worked for some of you?

Honestly, I used the CBEFM, it was great helping me to learn my cycles, but I did NOT get pregnant during the months of using it (pregnant twice before started with it, mc and chemical), the month I decided to take a break from it after 6/7 months is the month that I got pregnant... I'm 15 weeks. I personally found that the tracking put too much stress on me and the stress was working against us. I got a massage that month, was enjoying my wine, really let myself forget about TTC for the month, and bam.

I think a good idea would be to start temping to see if you have a temp shift which indicates whether or not you O. I know when I TTC #1 I temped and also did OPK, never got a positive OPK, but also, my chart when I took my temp never showed that I O'd (did not have a real temp shift). As it turned out I did not ovulate on my own so I had to seek out help from a RE.

Thank you posting this because I'm going nuts with this OPK thingy. I have the Clearblue and the Clearblue Advanced which is supposed to identify the peak and high fertility days ( that's exactly how I feel about it).

Anyway, yesterday around noon, I got a smiley on the regular OPK! I was like awesome, let me try the Advanced.. and it showed up negative. Then the directions on the Advanced said I need to use FMU, and when I tried this morning, negative again. At this point, at 4am, I was at the verge of tears. I checked with the regular OPK, and still negative. Right before leaving to go to work around 8:30, I was checked again, because I felt some EWCM, and voila smiley. I was ready to rip my hair off. Had I gotten that smiley, 4 hours before, we could have done something about it. Now I have to freaking wait until tomorrow. Makes me so mad and sad.

I refused to use the OPK's - I was very generously gifted a CBEFM, where you only use FMU and it gives you low, high, and peak fertility days. It definitely aided in me learning my cycle. Never got a BFP the cycles I used it, the cycle I decided to take a break was the one that I got my BFP - almost 16 weeks preggo now.
