rhogam shot

Has anyone filled a prescription for a rhogam shot recently? I dropped off the prescription yesterday and I got a call today that I'll be contacted in 5-6 days by their specialty pharmacy and then I'll have to wait another 5-6 days for the prescription. I never had a problem before, I usually had it within a few days. I need it for my appt this coming thursday. Does anyone know of a pharmacy that might keep it stocked?

I had to get one a few weeks ago. I had a problem that my insurance wouldn't cover it unless it was ordered through speciality pharmacy but since I needed it ASAP I sucked it up and got it through Franwin Pharmacy in Mineola who had it in stock and paid out of pocket (it was about $200) but my MFM said I could have also gone to the ER to get one. I eventually submitted a claim with Caremark and they reimbursed me for the cost.

I just filled one about 10 weeks ago...it was a PITA....The first time I needed it with DS they told me it would take 1 week (CVS)....this past time I started bleeding so you only have 72 hours to get the shot and it had already been about 36 so I couldn't wait...I had to pay OOP for it...it was about $160 at Stony Brook Pharmacy...

Such a pain...

Your dr should write a letter to your insurance..mine was covered with a copay...cvs farmingdale keeps one in stock usually but call ahead and they are so nice

I just had one last wed. It was my second one this year and CVS wouldn't fill the prescription even though the Dr. called ahead. My husband had to go to three different pharmacies and then finally, found one to fill it and they wanted to charge me $200...which was through my insurance. So they didn't put it through insurance and I paid $150. I paid $100 the first time. I don't get it.

I know I'll have to pay a lot OOP but in the past I've been reimbursed through my insurance company. I'm mostly concerned with being able to get it by Thursday.

I am going thru the CVS on Merritts, I put it in right after Dr appt last Wednesday, and they have to order it from special connect or something like that, a third party.. and I am waiting for them to call me directly to go over insurance and where I want it shipped (house or CVS).
The manager told me if I didn't hear anything by yesterday to call her and I did, she called them for me and they are putting a rush on the order and should hear from special connect today or 2m.

Can't help with price as of now, as I don't know what I'm looking at myself.. but I would try them and see about a rush as well. They are super helpful at that CVS, & I'm hoping they are right and I actually speak with the other company soon!

so I finally found the shot. If anyone needs it the pharmacy in North Shore Hospital in Manhasset keeps them in stock. It sucked that I had to go to the hospital to get it but I needed it for Thursday and couldn't find anyone that can get it for me by then. Thank you all for the info.
