Anywhere to watch the airshow that won't be crazy packed?
DS wants to see the airshow but I am not loving the idea of being in a crazy packed place to watch. Just wondering if it can be viewed from anywhere else besides the beach or 110.

Last year we went to the airport plaza parking lot and it wasn't that bad but you only see take off and landing.

I know this probably won't answer your question, but we leave super early in the AM with the intention of not staying all day long.
I honestly don't think it's that bad.
We pick up bagels for breakfast and hang on the beach.
It's kind of a happy medium.
I can see a lot of the planes from my house but just heading there and back.

I have driven to Jones before and it wasn't terrible. Maybe if you go to cedar creek park you can see it too.

We did this too. It's cool seeing them take off and land but there's a bit of down time in between.

I agree. We go every year. It's not that bad. I have the empire pass so that helps with the toll traffic. Just get there between 9-930 and don't sit right at central mall (field 4). Go into whatever lot and walk down a bit and sit in between 4 and 6. It is crowded by the vendors but, there is so much to do there. There are all trucks and whatnot at 6 that you can walk down to see. If your DS wants to go.. go.. you won't regret it.

We went a few years ago and just parked on the side of Ocean Parkway, almost near the turnabout. It was perfect; we were able to leave whenever we wanted to.

The main field I believe it's 4 is where they have the announcer so you can hear everything. (Just follow the crowd LOL)
Also remember they search your bags and such.
We're headed down in a little bit with friends and to meet some more people.

Thanks for the tip! I'll be a good cow and follow the herd. I convinced my boyfriend to go and it's the first time for both of us. I'm really excited, even though it's 7am.

Just remember...it's the beach. Don't forget sunscreen!
And for people going to the airport...there is a lot of down time because it's just the take offs and landings. So if you have kids, bring stuff to occupy them. Don't forget sunscreen and FOOD. And if you have headphones (like what landscapers use), bring them for the kids. The Blue Angels planes are LOUD!

You'll have a great time. Even though there's a lot of people, everyone has always been very respectful and friendly and it's just exciting and lots of fun to see the planes.
