Good gift for a 1 yr old boy?
Around $50.
Melissa and Doug puzzles? Or should we just do money? Family lives in CT so I don't know what stores are around them...

DS was just 1 last month, honestly we were happy for any checks he got to put in his savings cause we got so many toys and there is only so much room. He also doesn't know any better yet, so it was nice to see is savings increase 
But, with that said. Some great gifts that he got and loves are:
foam blocks
big legos
books
puzzles
a ride on train thing with button and noise that he can push around ( This is his fav toy right now).
ball popper (got for xmas)
little tikes slide (got for xmas)

DS's favorite gift that he received for his 1st birthday was 1 of those little tikes cars. I think they are like $75 though. (He is 21 months and still plays with it.)
He also received a couple of cute chairs... 1 of those little pull out "couches" or little soft "arm chair" looking one. I've seen those on Amazon for $50.

Thanks everyone! I'll prob just give a check. I figured I could stretch $50 more with an actual gift - but the money is probably best.
DD got a lot of clothes for her 1st birthday but she's a girl so it's different. LOL.
