He went right after he turned 2. The ped recommended he go at his 2 year appointment.
DS2 will go much earlier. DS1 goes back in September for his next appointment and DS2 will be 10 months old then. The dentist said they'll do a complimentary check-up to see how his teeth are coming in at that point but official cleanings etc wouldn't need to start until he's like 1.5-2 years old.

Any younger and he wouldn't have cooperated. It would not have gone well, and I didn't want him to develop an anxiety when going to the dentist.

Around 18 months. They just brushed and counted her teeth and talked about home care. Oh and showered her with presents! The dentist said they suggest starting around their first birthday to get them used to it and they make it fun to make them excited about the dentist. I think around 2 is fine though.

My DD was around 2.
DS just saw him at 11 months old, he has a mouthful of teeth.
Our dentist is my uncle so we probably go earlier than normal because of that.

My DS went for the first time at 10 months old and my DD was 11 months old. Going early was recommended by our pediatrician. It has worked to our advantage because our DS does really well at his cleanings. We go every 4 months because our plan allows for that.

DS1 was just turning 3. Nightmare!!! Had to hold him down. The second visit went just as bad. He's 4.5 now and just had his appt last week and finally did well.
DS2 is 2.5 and his appt is Thursday. Wish me luck! Lol

My oldest went at 2.5. It was a great experience. She goes to a pediatric dentist and it's very kid friendly!

First visit- 18 months and then every 6 months.
We go to a regular dentist, not a pediatric one.
DS loves going there. He gets to pick a toy every single time there, plus it helps that I am in the field, so he has been around dentist and hygienists his whole life.

I had wanted to take them both after they turned 2, but sadly, didn't get around to it with my first. So we took them for their first appt. together. Our older one was almost 4 and our younger one had just turned 2.

My daughter was 3, but she just sat in the chair and the dentist counted her teeth - not a real checkup. She had her first real check up at 5.
I have an appointment with a pediatric dentist this Saturday for both my kids. It will be my son's first visit. He's 3.5.
