So my water broke tonight****update******
It's all surreal. I went to use the bathroom before eating dinner and woosh my water broke. Needless to say I didn't get to eat and I am starving. I am 34 weeks and my girls didnt want me to be ready. I guess they like surprises! So I am laying here at Stony Brook awaiting their arrival. It's so surreal. Can't believe this is happening!!
******update******
Sorry ladies. Kept forgetting to update. So as you know my water broke Wed eve. Threw my bag together and went to stony brook. They were waiting for me. Midwife came in and checked me. I was 2cm dilated and 80% effaced. As she was checking me my water continued to break. So gross feeling. Like you are peeing yourself and you can't control it. So weird!! So then they move me to a labor room where I was having contractions but they weren't bad. Everyone thought I would be there a while. My sister in law ended up acting as my doula. She would tell me when to breathe and when the contraction was over. All of a sudden my contractions weren't going down. I was in active labor and was 9 cm dilated! They wanted am epidural port put in just in case. Well after five or six times of trying and my contractions getting worse I was losing my patience. I asked the midwife what my options were. They said either a spinal but that meant no pushing and straight to c or go with nothing and if b is breach then I can deliver that way but I had to be prepared. It isn't easy. And there are risks. So I decided to get the spinal and do a C. Well that wasn't easy. Took them over two hours to get me prepped get the OR and put the spinal in all while being 91/2 cm dilated and no pushing. Yeah right. Finally they got the spinal done and water number 2 broke on the table. They rushed me on the table and started the c. At 525 am on feb 6 they pulled baby A out and then Baby B at 5:25 as well. Baby A is Sydney Paige weighing in at 4lbs 15 oz and then Delaney Blake at 4lbs 9oz. Delaney went straight to a breathing tube. I got to see and kiss Sydney for a min. I started to feel myself being closed and told the anesthesiologist and next thing I remember is starting at ceiling not knowing where I was. I think I hallucinated. I was in recovery until that evening. Spiked a 102 fever put on 3 antibiotics got Demerol for chills and my pulse and BP were high. Got a room finally and then got taken to NICU to meet my daughters. I was so out of it. I held Sydney.
Delaney was in her incubator. I was in so much pain. I wasn't allowed to walk until the next day. Long long story short I am leaving today and my girls are staying. Sydney is having troubld keeping food down and needs a central line. They both are jaundice. Need uv light. Delaney is now getting better. Off breathing and feeding tube and her IV goes away today. I fed her earlier. She is so petite. I am in love and will be here all day every day until they are released. Don't know if I can post pics from my phone.
