I would call the doctor.
My OB told me that when I am having contractions that are five minutes apart that last for one minute long for one hour I need to head to the hospital. I have been have a lot of painful contractions since 28 weeks--at nearly 34 weeks there are times they bring tears to my eyes so braxton hicks can be VERY painful.

he told me to go to hospital if I'm in pain...I'm 39 weeks don't want to take any chances.

You should go--worst case scenario is they monitor you for awhile and then send you home with reassurance that everything looks OK. I have been to triage for preterm labor twice and just knowing that my baby was doing well made me feel so much better.

Have you timed them? My dr said if they are 3-4 mins apart to call him.
