when to stop bottles??

What age do u stop bottles? Wmy DD is 4 and she stopped at like 16 or 17 months I think but I can't remember. DS is 17 months & he is not liking this transition. Ugh. Hate this. Just wondering how long others let ther DC use a bottle even if for just morning and or night bottle. TIA!

We stopped the bottles just before my DS turned 14 months. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing, he literally hated all cups up until that point. He refused milk, water, anything in a cup. I thought he would be drinking from a bottle forever. The first time I tried switching was with his morning bottle and he freaked out, then I tried that afternoon bottle and he did the same thing. Then a few weeks later I thought maybe I should try switching at the night time bottle before bed because that was the only bottle of the day he really ever wanted and would finish. So I tried that and he took it without any problems. He probably fussed a little for a day or two each time I gave him a cup instead of the bottle but quickly forgot all about it.
