Can anyone recommend books and/or other resources that have helped them after they experienced multiple miscarriages? I just found out that my DH new insurance with his new company has NO infertility coverage what-so-ever (which is a flip from our old insurance, so quite a shock I can tell you). So now I am really hesitant to even go to the RE because I don't know how much it's going to cost us now, so I'm trying to see if I can work on it on our own with just dietary and supplemental changes.

There's the famous Taking Charge of your Fertility. I've done a lot of searching online for various fertility boosting smoothies and "super foods" - goji berries, etc. I think its hard to just guess things on your own - will insurance cover some blood tests at least? Maybe your OB can run them or GP? I am seeing a holistic dr. now who ran a bunch of tests and found out I am severly deficient in B vitamins and not absorbing folic acid, etc. and some other things that could only be found through blood tests.
Sorry not giving you list of places, but definitely look up online some diets, etc.
Sorry to hear about your insurance- totally sux. Dh's used to cover IVF and now that we may be going that way, they no longer cover it. Good luck!

Have you checked to see if you can see an RE as a specialist? I have no idea if I had coverage for IVF/IUI, etc bc I never got to that point and was able to get pregnant easily, but I did see an RE for recurrent mc. It was just covered as a specialist instead of a regular doctor visit. The copay was a bit more (I forget how much), but it may be something looking into if you are just looking for a consult. My consult was covered, as well as my visits after I got pregnant.
ETA: The coverage was not listed under "infertility coverage".

My issue is recurrent MC too (got preggo twice in 4 months, with 2 losses)... I've since found out that on my dad's side of the family women have a tendency to MC a lot (I have one aunt who had 5 mc's in a row before she had my cousin - and that's back then when you wouldn't even know you were preggo until after your missed AF, who knows how many chemicals she had). Thanks for the input! I'm changing OB's because my previous OB did no testing whatsoever except beta's - no checking of progesterone, no pre-TTC testing (and I went for a pre-TTC visit). I've heard some great things about this new doc and am keeping my fingers crossed.

Sounds like similar situations! Try checking on your insurance website to see if you are covered by that doctor, or call the office directly and ask if they accept your insurance. Don't look under IF coverage. Hopefully it will be something able to get under control easily after looking at BW and you won't have to stress about coverage. Good luck!

I know the LI/IVF docs are covered, I guess b/c of the endocrinology part... I thought that was strange. I'm in healthcare (and have been for longer than I can believe) so I'm more knowledgeable than others, and that surprised even me. I was relieved to see that, but at that point I had already made the changes with the appointments (canceled a consult with Dr. Brenner). I want to establish myself with a new OB regardless and I feel like my system is really messed up after this last loss (AF was late, short, and lighter than usual, and I'm just feeling really off) that as much as I want to keep ttc I think I need to give my body a little break. It's so good to know that there are others in the same/similar situation that have had success!
