Best Car for 3 carseats in 2nd Row
Hi all,
I am having my 3rd child and need to upgrade to a suv or minivan that will comfortably hold 3 car seats, preferably in the 2nd row.
I would like the car to be able to hold 8 passengers and still have space to hold a stroller and a bag or two. (For trips w/the Family).
Any suggestions- and good gas mileage would be awesome too! I know- I'm dreaming!

We r going to go suburban or Yukon xl. I know gas mileage isn't there but I like these trucks

I have an Acadia. I have a bench as my second row and I fit 3 convertibles across. Also has the 3rd row for more seating or you can leave it down for lots of trunk space.

we just got this car too. very roomy, huge trunk with 3rd seat down. I'm guessing you can put 3 across the second row but not 100% on that. also pretty good gas milage considering a big suv

I have the Acadia too, but with captain chairs in the 2nd row. I have two carseats in the 2nd row and one in the 3rd.
My sister has a Honda Pilot with a bench 2nd row and can easily fit 3 carseats across. The only thing about that is, it's next to impossible to get into the 3rd row with the carseats in without jumping over the seat.

Wouldn't reccomend the pilot. I sometimes have 3 carseats in my pilot an while they all fit the 3rd really is useless. We planing getting an odyssey or sienna

DH is looking into the tesla. It can fit 3 carseats in the 2nd row and then has 2 boosters you can have built in in the trunk area. it also has a front trunk because it is an electric car. it would work for carpools and just having more people in the car. I hate that I can never be in the same car with a friend and their kids.

Honda Odyssey (2011 and newer).. We went on a roadtrip where we had to bring us and another family (4 kids total) and fit 3 carseats across the second row and another in the third row, while still have enough room for 4 adults and space for luggage.

I dont think the 2010 has the room in second row for 3 carseats.

I'm not sure about the 2010 Odysseys, but I know the 2011 (I have the 2012) and newer can accept up to 5 carseats!

any car with a 3rd row will basically be useless with 3 carseats all in the second row. We have 3 kids and I have a Buick Enclave with 2nd row Captains chairs. My oldest sits in the 3rd row, and I keep the other half down for more room and when I use the whole 3rd row, I can easily fit my stroller in the back too, but not much else.

I'll agree that MOST cars have a useless third row, but I believe most minivans can comfortably accomodate adults (and or carseats) in the third row, plus enough room for luggage and strollers in the "trunk" of the car.

I actually had an infant seat, convertible carseat and a highback booster in my MDX last weekend - all in 2nd row and all kids were comfy

A lot depends on the carseats you're using as well. I can get 3 Radians in a Corolla or a Civic, but I would likely never be able to get 3 across with Britax Advocates in even larger vehicles.
