I'm actually a little concerned about the schedule. I'm sure DD won't be on the same schedule in a few months but right now she sleeps til 9:30ish. She will be in daycare come September probably 1 day a week. DH usually won't have to drop her off until 12 or 1.
My concern is that now that she's 16 months they won't go by her schedule anymore. The toddler room eats lunch at 11 then naps. DD eats lunch around 1 and then naps 2 hours from around 1:30-2:30. I just don't know how this will work out. She has a great schedule right now because DH works late so the later she wakes up the better. Will I have to manipulate her schedule that 1 day a week? Will that throw the rest of the week off? Just wondering if anyone has gone through this and what your experience was.

DS is in 3 days now but was only there 2 days. In the toddler rooms, yes your DD will have to go by their schedule. I found that my DS then made his other days the same as the daycare schedule.

I know this might be a strange question but can you put here in daycare 2 days. In the begining I had asked about 1 day and they really suggested not to. This was due to them getting used to the routine and then beign away from it for so long....it make for a constant routine change.

My kids go to DC part time. We changed our schedule so it was similar to theirs. Technically we aren't supposed to drop the kids off after 11 but there are days I bring them at 2. Since they're doing me a favor I don't want to interrupt their routine.

DS adjusts to the daycare schedule on daycare days, and the grandma schedule on grandma days. He's gotten into his own routine.

That's good to hear! Hopefully she'll do the same. I'm thinking the 1 day will be very tough for her though. She's super attached to me, especially being home this summer.

My DC go part time - we have their "off" days mirror the schedules of daycare

DS goes 3x a week and it amazes me how he adapts day to day. Don't stress it!

I was in a similar situation to you and your dd will adjust. It's amazing what children do in a group setting - I used to rock my son for every nap and was terrified daycare would be a nightmare when he started at 18 months. No issues! I would second the recommendation of 2 days. My son did 2 days and it was tough - 1 day would be even harder.

My son is now 27 months but has been in daycare part time since 5 months old. In the beginning he went to a private daycare run out of someone's home 1 day a week. He was an infant so she let him nap whenever he needed it. Then as he got older she only napped the "bigger kids" one time a day when he was still napping twice a day at home. The way it worked out was that he followed her schedule on the days he was there and then ours when he was home. This even stuck when he increased to 3 days a week. You may have to adjust your LOs schedule a bit which I know is annoying when you have a good thing going. I also agree with the PP. depending on your child's age it may be better to do 2 consecutive days in a row. Good luck

i'm a SAHM, so no experience with it... but since its only 1 day a week, could you maybe find somebody to watch her at your house so she stays on her good routine?
it sounds like you might only need somebody for a few hours- if you said your DH doesn't need to drop her off until 12 or 1... and then as a teacher you could probably get her by 4 or 5, right?
just another option if you're worried about keeping the good routine...
