I liked Chef Mickey at the contemporary resort. If he likes pooh then do the Crystal Palace (MK)

Chef Mickey's is soooo fun! Napkin twirling and dancing, and it has the characters that just about every little one will recognize

We did Tusker House at Animal Kingdom with Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Daisy (couldn't get Chef Mickeys) and LOVED it!!!

Another good one for boys is the DIsney Jr breakfast at Hollywood and Vine in Hollywood Studios - they have June from Little Einsteins, Jake, Special Agent Oso and Handy Manny. DS was in awe the whole time. The breakfast was good - standard american fare. I had heard mixed reviews so I was pleasantly surprised.

Love ohana at the poly for breakfast. Also cape may cafe at beach club resort has a great breakfast buffet and all the classic characters.

Didn't care for crystal palace BC even with reservations are waited over 30 mins for our table and then the buffet was only OK.

Non character meals....boma at animal kingdom lodge is so good. And my boys really enjoyed trex in DTD.
With trex call the restaurant directly they have more availability than the online booking.

Chef Mickeys is good for a first visit but the character interaction both times we went was okay. We got more time with the characters standing in line than at chef mickeys. Crystal palace the interaction was pretty good. The characters sat on the floor with my girls. The food at both is eh.

I hear good things about Tusker house breakfast or lunch.
We tried garden grill this past trip and it was one of the kids favorite meals. I had heard the food wasn't so good but the salad, steak and talapia were better than the food at chef mickeys or crystal palace. It is family style and plated for the kids (chicken drum stick, mac anf cheese, sweet potatoe fries). The food is mainly grown from what you see on the ride. The restaurant slowly rotates over the ride. The interaction was considerably better. It will be on our list again in the future. It is farmer mickey, pluto, chip and dale. They were hysterical. They came around 2-3 times during the meal. The 1st time was for photos and signing our books. Then a paw comes out and tickled Dd#2. They played peek a boo, they got the girls up and danced with them. They just played with them for a goid 2-3 mins. We got all 4 characters 2 times and mickeu and chip 3 times.

A lot of reservations open up closer to the date - I had the same issue last year. People book their reservations far in advance and then cancel once they finalize their plans.

ETA - Tusker House has a nice character breakfast too.

The Not so Scary Halloween is a close-the-park-ticket only event. We went two years ago and this wear doing Mickey Very Merry Xmas event. The tickets must be paid up front in full. And its not a dining event. You walk around the park and trick or treat and get a special parade at night and the park is open until midnight.

Candy was 'ok' but nothing to brag about. The costumed characters were fun and AJ loved walking the park in her costume (ms Captain America) and looking for the big orange pumpkins for the treat stations. She stayed up all night until it closed (she was 3 at the time) I have photos of her on that carosuel in the middle of the night FULL of energy! LOL
