Anterior placenta

Anyone else have it? My Dr. said it is more difficult to feel the baby move with it. I'm almost 22 weeks and I don't really feel anything besides what I think is flutters once in a while.Chat Icon

Re: Anterior placenta

I have anterior placenta, I felt the baby early on, however not as strong as I had with my other two children. At around 30 weeks, the kicks became very strong and it was just like the other pregnancies where I could see my belly moving.

It takes a little longer, but you will feel those bigger kicks as the baby gets stronger.Chat Icon

Re: Anterior placenta

Thanks. That's good to hear. I just feel like I'm missing out when people say "oh, can you feel it moving yet?" and I can't really answer yes. Kinda makes me sad, but I guess I'll just have to be patient.

Re: Anterior placenta

I think it's different for everyone. I heard stories of people having an anterior placenta and barely feeling the baby. I have an anterior placenta and feel a lot of movement. I'm about 26wks. At 22wks, I had JUST started feeling real movements (as in .. kicks, not just flutters). Just give it some more time!

I had it and didn't feel anything until the baby was big enough that I felt actual hands and knees sweeping across me.

I started to feel something at 25 weeks but it wasn't until 28/29 where I started to feel them more consistently. Hang in there you will feel them soon!!

Oh boy that stinks. Chat Icon

That's kinda how I'm feeling now, that I won't be able to feel her at all. Hopefully I will though eventually.

It makes me feel a little better that I'm not the only one. I was starting to feel like a freak.

Re: Anterior placenta

I had an anterior placenta with ds and it was tough feeling him move but definitely by 25+ wks, I felt and saw his kicks. But I didn't see the footprint like some mommas did, just a bump that traveled around. Lol. It was still amazing, you'll love it!

Re: Anterior placenta

With my son I felt everything from 17 weeks on and had crazy movement. However, this time around I have an anterior placenta and barely felt a thing until around 25-26 weeks. Once I started feeling movement it was never as drastic as with my son. I'm now between 35-36 weeks and feel lots of movement.

Re: Anterior placenta

I do.

I felt absolutely nothing until hitting 23 weeks...

First time I felt it I was in the bath and it felt like a fish flopped around in my stomach and then it stopped and that was it.

The next day I felt distinct pokes a few times.

The next day I actually saw movement.

Progressively felt more and more movement every day from that point on.

Ditto. Even at the end...barely a movement and never a kick ever.
