Need opinions on a bday gift
We are going to a good friends daughter's 1st bday party this weekend and am not sure what to get her... our friends gave DD $ and books for her 1st bday. DH suggested we give them $ and something else back.
Is that tacky? I want to get something nice but not sure I want to give $ back as a gift
I am considering getting an engraved musical lenox jewelry box with a little ballerina inside... its not for a one year old but is meant for children... or one of those mini Shoenhut pianos ..
What do you think?
ETA: SO I think I am going with the jewelry box, but I cant decide between the Lenox one and the Pottery Barn One-which do you guys like best (at this point I am not sure either will arrive on time but the Lenox one is more likely too-) Ugh I suck at getting pictures to post!

I'd say money and... Maybe a small token. An outfit... An etsy hair clip, etc.
Personally, I don't like big presents. Jewelry box is nice too.

i always give the chair/step stool combo personalized with the child's name. i just think it's something nice that they will always have and use for at least a few years. i like to give something, especially for the 1st!
a personalized jewelry box would be nice too. did you check things remembered?

I love to give this pottery barn kids jewelry box as a 1st bday gift.
It is always well received and I think it may be a little more "modern" than the lenox one I think you are considering.

I LOVE this idea! I am so stealing this from here on out. We have step stools all over the house, in their room, in the bathroom, int the kitchen so they can reach things.
to OP, this would be such a great gift!

Need opinions on a bday gift
we received a personalized name puzzle bench. My dd loved it and it helped her learn to write/spell her name.
This is NOT the company hers was from. I cant seem to find the one we have.

Thanks everyone, I really love the idea for a personalized name puzzle bench but it seems that Im a bit late to the party on that one since they all estimate 3-4 weeks delivery and processing ...
