Toddler programs in the Melville area

DD will be 2 in June and I'd like to get her enrolled into a 2 yr old program starting in the Fall. I don't want to push her and make her go to "school" so early but she is very bright and loves to socialize. I figure she could use an opportunity to interact with other kids in a group setting. I'm a SAHM so I am pretty flexible with schedule.

So far DH and I have checked into 3 schools and unfortunately the 1 that we really like has a minimum of 3 days/wk for 3 hours. I feel like that is going to be too much to start her off. I'm going to see if they will work with me but in the meantime I figured I would check to see if anyone has any good recommendations. I'd rather not travel too far so ideally it would be in Melville/Huntington/Dix Hills area.

Step by step preschool in Dix hills. It's in a church. ( anyone can enroll)
DD was in the 2's, is now in the 3's, and this september will be in the 4's.
For the 2 year old program, you can choose 1,2,3, or 4 days. It's 9:45-12.
There are no more than 8 kids in the class. Two teachers.
My DD loved it! She had fun, made friends, and she learned a Lot too.
You can FM if you have any questions.

Check out crestwood country day school. They have a really fantastic program....science, art, music....and their campus is like an amusement park! I know they have openhouses on Saturdays or you can call during yhe week. Its on round swamp rd in Melville!

I also wanted to add...I have heard great things about Work of Heart in Huntington on Pidgeon Hill Rd., and St. Luke's in Dix Hills.

I have heard good things about the program at St. Peter's in Huntington Station, and I had a good experience when I contacted them. DS is in the program at our church in East Northport - I totally recommend it but it is probably too fr for you (It is almost too far for me lol)

Re: Toddler programs in the Melville area

For those who recommended a Work of Heart - they mentioned on the phone that they are both daycare and pre-school. Would you say that it lends itself more towards daycare?
