How do you find a babysitter?
Hi, I'm a first-time mom, new to Port Washington. I have a 7 month old who I've never left except with family before. My in-laws live 1.5 hrs away and come out once a week for a few hours, but I need more help than that. I have no idea how to go about finding someone trustworthy to leave my precious girl with. How did you all find a good babysitter?

How do you find a babysitter?
I have used care.com and sittercity.com, both have worked well. Both of our families are 7 hours upstate so we don't have any family to rely on.

How do you find a babysitter?
For the most part DS is with family or my BFF, but I did find a great babysitter that we use two Saturday nights a month so DH and I can go out as a couple or with friends. My mom is a teacher in a daycare and I use a girl who works with her. Do you have friends with kids who may be able to recommend their sitter?

Thanks so much for the info! We are looking on those websites and I'm going to ask one of the neighbors who has kids.
