New Graco Modes stroller

Anyone go to check this out? I registered for a chicco travel system but think I like this better. The only thing is the pattern that it comes in in the travel system version looks likes it's pink and i'm having a boy so I would have to purchase the carseat and stroller seperately. Plus there's only like 1 carseat to buy with click connect if you don't want the infant to 2 years one. Boo - why can't they just make this simple?

I just typed Graco Mode click connect in my search bar and it came up! It shows you all the ways it can be used.

Re: New Graco Modes stroller

That's why I liked it too! Plus I kinda like that the baby can be rear or front facing for when we walk outside during this summer.

Re: New Graco Modes stroller

Definitely!! This must be a VERY new stroller!! I was leaning towards the Chicco as well because it reclines all the way back and the foot rest goes up, but that infant stroller part of the Modes, does the same thing!! Hope the patterns are more than what is shown....

Re: New Graco Modes stroller

I hope so too with the patterns. Can't get a pink stroller for a boy KWIM? lol I was thinking I could just get the Onyx stroller though and get the seat that has the owl on it (I think it's called Harlowe?) It's not my favorite but it'll work. They did have another seat listed that I like but it's just out for pre-order so IDK when it'll actually be out. Hopefully before my shower which i'm thinking will be March or April since i'm due May 18th. Although the pattern they show in the video I really like - but I don't see it available at all.

Re: New Graco Modes stroller

I want this also. You can get either the graco click connect 35 or 40 car seat that will work with it. I contacted graco on facebook and they wrote me that they are coming out with travel systems with the click connect 35 in Francesca and Antiquity fashions by mid-February. One is a pink one and the other I think is a gray pattern. But there are a few others out there also. If you buy them seperately I think its like a $20 difference so I think if I decide to get it, I'll get the black stroller and then the car seat in tidal wave. I LOVE how the car seat is so light, and how you can adjust the recline to I believe 8 positions so that the baby will be comfy in it until 2. For my ds I had the snugride 32 and it was heavy for me to carry him even as a newborn, and I only used it until 6 months bc he hated it. I guess bc of the recline (I then switched to a rear facing convertible seat). I also LOVE that the stroller can be used like a snap and go in the very beginning and then you can face the seat either facing you or away. I wanted a stroller for my ds that would face either way but 3 years ago the only strollers that did that cost over $300

Re: New Graco Modes stroller

Lol. I told my husband we needed to go to Babys r us and check it out and he was all whiny and like but we already picked a stroller and carseat. He's not a happy camper. They just don't get it sometimes.

Re: New Graco Modes stroller

Oh the youtube video of the modes stroller has that antiquity pattern (the one graco told me was coming out in feb) which is nice for a boy also.

So if you already have a Graco carseat, I think I have the 32, it won't fit? That is annoying.

I asked them and no its not compatible bc the click connect is a newer system. Its only compatible with the click connect 35 and 40

if you get it make sure to get click connect car seat. That's the only one that will go with the frame. But any Graco (and I think other brands) goes with the seat to make it a travel system.

updating, I'm trying to decide if I should keep it or not.
It doesn't fold when rear facing unless you take the seat out. which is pain in the neck.
also lot of squeaking and clicking when pushing it. smooth ride , light , but sounds like an old stroller. also seems a bit too wobbly.
maybe it's just this one, who knows.

Sounds like maybe you need to tighten it up a bit. I tried it in the store and it didn't make a sound. Maybe a loose screw???

DH did, I called Graco and was told they have gotten calls about it and seems to resolve if you oil the wheels, I did but still making the noise. Then I spoke to another mom at DD's school who just got one last week also and she says she is having the same issue. She also thinks it's a bit too flimsy and wobbly, which wasn't noticeable at all when I tried at the store. I was just reading the reviews on TRU and saw another person complaining about the same thing .
I 'm so sad because I finally found what I wanted. I want to give it a chance but DH isn't happy and wants a refund

That stinks.

You know what though, after four years of searching and owning different baby items I have come to realize there is no one perfect thing out there. Especially with the strollers, you have to find one that meets MOST of your criteria and realize nothing is perfect. If a squeak is its worst offense, I will deal because compared to my complaints about the Chicco that's nothing. It has so many other things I like that I am willing to compromise.

Another possibility, maybe the squeak is because it's new and needs to be broken in. All the plastic and parts are so new, maybe they are just rubbing right now but will loosen up over time.

Sorry you're disappointed. Chat Icon Hope you figure it out, I know you were so excited about it. Chat Icon
