1/2 kindergarten

So our district does not offer full time kindergarten :/
Our preschool offers kindergarten enrichment, and we are interested in putting him there.
So basically he will go to public school in the AM and then go to his preschool. Have you gone through this with your child if so how did it go?Chat Icon
Thanks!!

Not exactly on point but our K is not full day every day - there are three full days and 2 where DS is out by 11:20. I actually like it for him - on his half days he can do piano lessons, science classes, sports classes, library classes etc - I think it just adds a dimension at this age. In addition, it's nice to have the down time for him... HTH!

We have 1/2 day and many parents do one of the enrichment programs at daycares or churches.

My sister actually scraped 1/2 day in her district and enrolled in full day private to make things easier - just a thought.

We did kindergarten enrichment in the morning & the 1/2 day in the afternoon (because I needed them to go to afterschool until they could be picked up).

They did well.

Having done both (full day in a Catholic school), I don't think it's as "enriched" as a full day kindergarten but hours wise it worked out & they did fine.

Re: 1/2 kindergarten

We do extended day kindergarten in the morning through SCOPE. Then he gets bussed to his home school for his kindergarten in the fat noon. He then stays for afternoon SCOPE.
