5 month old baby with first cold

Hi Everyone
Looking for some advice with moms with experience. My 5 month old has a small cold. She has had this since Friday morning and had a runny nose and cough. I brought her to the doctor and she said it was a cold and to simply use saline drops, a humidifier and elevate her head. Friday night she vomited once, once on Saturday night while drinking her bottle and again today. Sunday was fine. She also woke up this morning and had diarrhea three times and once recently today. My doctor says this can be from all the mucus she is swallowing and to dilute her formula for a few days. Do you think this can be true? Sorry I am a first time mom and I am a nervous wreck since Friday.

yes, this all sounds normal to me and doctor sounds about right to me too based on my little experience, my baby just about turned one and has been sick with colds and stomach bugs a few times now. currently has a cold now actually too.
i bet she feels better soon. just make sure drinking. thats whats most important. call doctor if she refuses to drink. I think dilute the formula is a good idea too.

i am going through the same thing with my DS who is 4.5 months. at first he had a fever and was throwing up his milk a few times but then that subsided and now he just has a cold/cough. the doctor told me pretty much the same thing- saline in his nose, humidifier at night.. been a few days now though and i just want it to go away! Hope your LO feels better soon.

my 7 month old also has had a cold for 2 weeks now..no other symptons until today when she started coughing...Ugh..

I feel like it takes babies a longer time to get rid of a cold? Anyone else notice this?
