a sil-pat ---

It's a silicone mat type thingy that you lay on a bake sheet so the cookies don't stick.

So much better than just a spray!

Re: What would you put....

I just did one recently. I put in:

bakeware:
9x13 cake pan
8x8 brownie pan
loaf pan
cookie sheet
jelly roll pan
air crisper sheet (?)
muffin pan

ingredients:
cake flour
baking soda
baking powder
cinnamon
granualted sugar
brown sugar
confectioners sugar
vanilla extract
bag of brownie mix
box of cake mix
bag of blueberry muffin mix
tube icing
sprinkles
cupcake foil cups
box of food coloring
jar of icing

I actually brought it all to my florist and he used fake grass to arrange everything in a cherryeood basket (that I had from my shower) and then wrapped it in celophane and tied it with these huge bows in her wedding colors.

Re: What would you put....

I got one at my shower and it had most of the things on the previous lists - I also had some baking books.

Re: What would you put....

They have really cute measuring cups and spoons - heart shaped.

I would put in a pastry bag, with different tips.

I would get a cookbook - I heard the Cake Doctor is a good one.

A GC to a supermarket for the perishable items might be great, like for eggs and stuff.

Re: What would you put....

I did one for my friend a few months ago and put in a few pans then some basic ingredients.

I put everything in a canvas laundry type basket and then tied the cookie cutters across the front using ribbon.

I also made a small dessert cookbook with about 70 recipes in it.

I love this idea...How much do you think you spent when it was done? Just curious, I have a shower in a few weeks.

I spent about $130, but I guess it depends on what pans they registered for. My friends were $20 a piece, so I only got 4.

Very cute idea! Can I buy the cookie cutters at BBB?? I am so bad with this stuff..

Probably. I got heart shaped ones that were different sizes, they came in a pack of six from Fortunoffs, but BBB probably has them to.

ETA: Found these on BBB website, don't know if they would have them in store
