Mild new immune disease

Hi all! I have a 3 year old and in may and August I had a miscarriage. My doctor thinks the second time why I miscarried is bc I didn't wait 2 cycles it was really like a chemical pregnancy. He decided to do all this bloodwork... 15 tubes of blood which really you don't do unless you hav 3 miscarriages. I went on Monday and decided to call yesterday and he only got a third of the tests but it shows very mild case of new immune disease. He said the numbers are so low that the lab could've made a mistake. He is not concerned that I can't get pregnant or carry a baby. He just wants to make sure I am healthy and he wants me to see a hematologist just in case. He put me on baby aspirin and extra folic acid and he told me I can start trying as I have had 2 cycles. He also said the aspirin can help with mild cases like this. I am so scared.... As anyone been through this???

I have a whole boatload of autoimmune issues! With the right meds you can be very successful! I have a 3 year old and am 21 weeks pg now! Good Luck!

I am also borderline for this and when pregnant take lovenox injections along with the baby asprin daily. My m/c's have had nothing to do with the immune disorder.

Hi, I was diagnosed with lupus about 7-8 weeks post partum after our 2nd trimester loss in June. If he is saying you have "mild" issues, he is probably concerned about blood coagulation issues that often occur in autoimmune disease (i.e. if your body is producing any anti-phospholipid antibodies, like anticardiolipin antibodies, ACLA, which can cause your blood to thicken and be "sticky"...definitely can cause miscarriages). I would make sure to ask the doc which antibodies you have and what the #'s are....things like ACLA can vary greatly, mine were very high 2 months ago but are now NORMAL! I made a lot of changes w/ diet etc., but please make sure to do your homework.....once these antibodies develop they like to "bring their friends" so to speak and others can develop later on. I wish someone would have properly explained this stuff to me when I was first diagnosed with being ANA positive (anti-nuclear antibodies) in 2008. You are doing the right thing as far as worrying about blood thinners, but, make sure you understand what your #'s are, and which antibodies you have (I have 3 out of 5 of the "main" antibodies for lupus, the most closely associated with lupus is "double stranded dna" or ds-dna). Please let me know if you have questions, I have kind of become my own expert since diagnosis 2 months ago. I started taking plaquenil (immune suppresant) just to be safe, it will hopefully prevent other antibodies from forming, I will come off of it in 2 years and see how my antibodies are measuring at that point. Thank you all! I am going to the Hematoligst on Monday. He didn't say this could cause miscarriages. I am on baby asprin now and extra folic acid. I hope I become pregnant soon!!!!
