Issue When Paying for NYC Cab with Cr Card
I usually pay for cabs in the city with cash. I have only used my credit card 2 or 3 times and a few days after 2 of the times I became the victim of bank fraud. Any one else have this issue?

I use CCs all the time and never had an issue but that seems very possible! That's pretty horrible. Can you somehow link the company that charged your card and the fraud a few days later?

My sister uses CC for cabs too and has been the victim of bank fraud multiple times. My mom is convinced it is from using her CC in the cabs.

I use CC in cabs all the time and have never had any problems. Sorry that happened to you.

The CC readers are located in the back of the cab where the passengers sit. Most likely what's happening is that identity thieves will ride back there and rig the CC readers with skimmers. If they can do it at an ATM where there is video surveillance, why not the back of a cab where no one can see you. Cabs also have a high turnover so just imagine how many people in one day will swipe their CC.

DH always pays for cabs with credit card and thankfully we have never had any problems
I however have been the victim of cc fraud twice in the past 3 months...never had i used my card in a cab. it can be anyplace that gets you.
I would think if it happened to you twice, unless it was the same exact cab, maybe there is another common place you went both time before the fraud occurred? i think mine was from my gas station that i have been going to for 10 years - you just never know
