Start date for a new job
Is it possible or OK to negotiate a start date with a new job when you accept a job offer?
They requested that I start in about 6 weeks. I needed a tiny bit more than that,
Its a new position for them.
ETA: Negotiated my start date and it was no problem for the date i requested! I am all set to go!
They were totally fine with it.

Unless you have a really, really, REALLY good excuse I probably wouldn't ask.
But if it's something like you've bought airline tickets somewhere and you're going to be away - basically something beyond your control really, then I'd say ask.

I did. I was waiting for a bonus at my old job. it was about 5 weeks. They understood, it is norm in my industry.

Ok, yeah see for my profession the start date is uslly about 4-6 weeks. I needed a little more.
