they won't take processed hair though..

I did it three times. They do now take hair that was chemically straightened too so I was able to donate again after years of not being able to!

I do it about once every 2 years (once my hair is down to my butt).
You can go to their website and print out a form to fill out and bring with you to the salon. Some places will do your cut for free if you're donating.

Yup I've done it a few times. My hair doesn't grow that fast so it takes me a year or two to get it long enough to donate again.

i have not researched enough.......but i will say this as a hairstylist...
i TELL people up front in their hair is too damaged etc ....
if you ever reallllllllllllllllllllllly saw what goes on to make a strong long lasting wig....well no wonder half the hair cant be used.
color is okay...but bleached out split up hair isnt strong enough to handle what needs to be done to make a wig.
so wethere its locks o love or pantene.....if you are donating ONLY TO MAKE A WIG it will really all depend on your hair quality.
and when in doubt i do agree....send a check or donate time :)

Yes I have, my hair has never been colored or received any chemical treatments though. It's a wonderful gift, and my salon doesn't charge me for my haircut which is an added bonus

I've heard this from a couple people so I donated to Pantene Beautiful Lengths end of last year.
I just want to say that I heard that they started doing this. I emailed them the last time I wanted to donate - and they assured me that the wigs are free. The ONLY hair they sell is the hair that they receive is not eligible for use and doesnt fit their standards (damaged, dry, or hair that did not take to their process). They will then sell this hair since they cant use it.
